Misa brunch restaurant in Hanam: sirloin mushroom risotto at Bokkeriu

Today I'm posting about Bokkeriu, a great restaurant for a Hanam date :) Bokkeriu was born out of a full makeover of its predecessor, Truenang. My husband and I had visited back when it was still Truenang, so I went in curious to see how it had changed.

Where Bokkeriu is and how parking works

Bokkeriu is at 102-19 Misadong-ro, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. There's parking space on the first floor and a large private lot behind a green fence right in front of the restaurant, so you can visit without any parking worries! Even from the first floor, Bokkeriu already had a luxurious feel to it.

Inside the second floor: window seats and picture windows

The moment I stepped into the second-floor dining room, I thought this place would suit brunch with friends, a family gathering, a happy anniversary, or even an important meeting — the first impression was that luxurious, modern, and comfortable.

The floor-to-ceiling windows blend the space with nature outside, and the atmosphere was wonderful. That lush green view always puts my mind at ease :) The tables were also spaced generously, so there was no cramped feeling at all.

Every corner had that clean, modern interior that made the whole place feel comfortable.

Since we'd made a reservation in advance, they had a window table all set up for us. Total satisfaction from the very first impression 😊

Bread before the meal and the soup of the day

First, the pre-meal bread. Crispy sourdough came with rich seaweed butter, giving our appetites a light, savory kickstart.

Soup of the day — corn soup. This corn soup had bits of fresh kernels in it, with a deeply fragrant, sweet and nutty flavor!! My favorite 💛 Even the soup was delicious.

Chef's choice half salad

The chef's choice half salad came as a ricotta salad — plenty of fresh vegetables, ricotta cheese, nuts, and a drizzle of balsamic dressing on top.

Grapefruit ade and plum ade

My husband's usual pick, grapefruit ade — sweet and tangy grapefruit ade is always so good 🍊 I tried plum ade for the first time and worried it might taste artificial, but not at all. I think they make the ade with homemade syrup... it was really delicious!!! Definitely recommend trying it :)

Rucola hamon wood-fired pizza

The rucola hamon pizza caught my eye just from the look of it — piled high with rucola and hamon. As someone who loves rucola, I really appreciated how generously they used the ingredients :) Being a wood-fired pizza, it tasted lighter and let the natural flavors of the ingredients shine through. Dipping the crust in the ranch sauce that came with it made every last bite delicious.

Sirloin mushroom risotto, the standout dish

Bokkeriu's sirloin mushroom risotto looked amazing, and the moment my husband and I took a bite, we both went 'wait, what is this?' in surprise... it was that good 😭 The risotto was piled high with sirloin and mushrooms too. Rich mushroom aroma, a thick risotto, tender sirloin — the combination was perfect and so delicious. Highly, highly recommend! You have to try it 🙏

200g Korean beef sirloin steak

The Korean beef sirloin steak arrived set on an elegant black plate. The moment I took a bite, the tenderness was insane. The clean flavor and meaty aroma of the sirloin... the doneness was perfect too, with not a single tough spot in the sirloin. It was seriously so delicious and tender!

Grilled paprika, mushroom, sweet pumpkin, zucchini, and onion came alongside the steak. Eating the sweet vegetables in between bites really maximized the flavor.

A Han River walk after lunch at Bokkeriu

Every single dish at Bokkeriu was delicious, and with the quality, portion size, and price all reasonable, it's a place you could visit for a relaxed brunch or for a nicer-mood anniversary dinner.

After eating, it's also great to walk along the Han River behind the restaurant!! Definitely recommend taking a stroll :)
