Hanam Misa restaurant with oil-free samgyetang broth: Baekheukdam
In short
Baekheukdam is a samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and haesintang restaurant on Misa-dong-ro in Hanam, Gyeonggi. On a chilly day the writer ordered the clear samgyetang and got a transparent, oil-free broth with chicken that fell off the bone at the touch of a chopstick, plus fresh kimchi, cubed radish kimchi, glutinous rice and ice cream for dessert. With a large private parking lot and high ceilings, Baekheukdam works well for a family meal with parents.

With the weather turning chilly, it felt like the perfect time to hunt down a proper boyangsik (health-boosting meal), so I went looking for something clean and restorative. Here's my review of Baekheukdam, a samgyetang spot in Hanam whose broth was clean from the very first sip and left me thoroughly satisfied✨
Where is Baekheukdam and is there parking?
Baekheukdam is a samgyetang and haesintang specialist on the 1st floor of 93 Misa-dong-ro in Hanam, Gyeonggi, with a generously sized private parking lot that makes driving there easy. It sits right along the road into Misa-dong, so it also felt like a nice spot to stop by on a drive.

It's also a perfectly convenient stop for a weekend lunch before heading over to shop at Starfield.

Even from a distance, the clean, polished building stood out and was easy to spot. It has the feel of a standalone two-story building, so the exterior alone gave off a tidy, well-kept atmosphere🏢
The private parking lot is spacious too, so it's really easy to visit by car👍

Inside Baekheukdam: high ceilings and roomy table spacing
Walking in, the high ceilings gave the space an open, uncramped feeling I really liked. The tables were spaced generously apart and the interior was kept spotlessly clean. If you want a tidy place to eat, this is the kind of interior that makes me want to recommend it right away as a samgyetang spot in Hanam🌿

The restroom is also located inside the restaurant, which is very convenient.
📋Ordered: clear samgyetang, Pepsi Zero

Before the food arrived, they set out a cool tea and a zero-sugar cola. The tea had a nutty flavor and was really nice for cleansing the palate.

What comes with the clear samgyetang set
Finally, the clear samgyetang I'd ordered arrived, neatly laid out. The samgyetang bubbling away in its stone pot, along with glutinous rice and tidy side dishes, made for a visual that felt filling just to look at. I also loved that the glutinous rice came out separately in its own bowl🍲

How the oil-free, transparent broth tastes
The broth was genuinely fat-free, clear and transparent, which really stood out — and it was beautifully topped with ginseng, jujube, and shredded ginger, so just looking at it felt healthy. Even people who prefer a heavier broth would likely be satisfied with the deep flavor that had been carefully drawn out here — a broth flavor unique to this samgyetang spot in Hanam. I was impressed from the very first spoonful😋

Fresh kimchi and glutinous rice at Baekheukdam
The fresh kimchi, cubed radish kimchi, and pickles that came as basics were all delicious. At a samgyetang restaurant, the kimchi is more than half the experience, and this one was salty, crisp, and paired beautifully with the clear broth. The glutinous rice, full of sticky texture, was perfect for mixing into the broth too. It was basically a rice thief🍚

Just look at the stone pot, freshly out and still bubbling. The deep umami flavor was rich enough that the more I drank, the more soothed my stomach felt. I thought there couldn't be anything better for a proper body reset🔥

Baekheukdam is originally famous for its haesintang, another well-known Misa dish, so the broth itself clearly had a different level of skill behind it. One sip of the samgyetang broth and it made total sense why this place has such a reputation as a boyangsik specialist. The best💯

How tender is the chicken?
The chicken in Baekheukdam's clear samgyetang had been simmered so thoroughly that the meat fell off the bone with just a light touch of the chopsticks. Tearing off a piece of the big, plump chicken thigh, it was tender through and through with no gamey smell at all🍗

Even the leaner parts weren't dry at all — they pulled apart moist along the grain. It's a texture anyone, regardless of age or preference, could comfortably enjoy. I properly tasted a bowl made with real care✨

Pulling off a bit of the lean, tender meat and dipping it in salt doubled the savory flavor. If you're looking for a clean, filling lunch spot near Starfield, I'd really recommend stopping by👌

Dessert and the verdict on Baekheukdam
After finishing the meal, Baekheukdam brought out a refreshing, sweet pink ice cream for dessert. It cleansed the palate nicely to finish. The dessert service at the end made the whole course feel complete🍨
Baekheukdam was so satisfying overall — a clean, deep broth with no gamey smell at all, plus tender meat. With a spacious, comfortable dining room, friendly service, and a large parking lot, it seems like a great place to take your parents or hold a family gathering. Next time, I want to come back and try Baekheukdam's other signature dish, the haesintang that's also well known in Misa. If you're in Misa or Hanam and craving a comforting, clean bowl of boyangsik, be sure to stop by Baekheukdam, a samgyetang spot in Hanam!
