Anseong brunch café: snow bingsu and outlets at every seat, Chat Baker

Hi everyone! I went to Chat Baker in Gongdo, Anseong for a weekend date with my husband. I'd been looking for a large café around Pyeongtaek-Anseong, and once I stepped inside I was surprised right away — the place was seriously huge.

It's near Anseong Farmland and Gongdo Lotte Mart, so it's also a good stop after a drive or an outing.

How big is the inside of Chat Baker?

It really lived up to being a large Pyeongtaek-Anseong café — the space was huge. From the moment we walked in, the tables were spaced generously and the whole layout felt open, with no cramped feeling at all.

There were plenty of different seating types, so it'd be great for a couple's date or comfortable for a family or larger group too. Here and there were ceramics, music-related CDs, and little props, which made it more fun to look around than a typical bakery café.

There was even a bit of a music-venue atmosphere, with one area that looked like it could host performances, which felt kind of special. There's also an outdoor terrace, which looked great for having coffee outside on a nice day.

From sandwiches to hearty meal options, there was a lot to choose from — I'd love to come back just for brunch next time.

What we ordered: snow bingsu and a sandwich

We'd already eaten breakfast, so we ordered one snow bingsu (shaved ice dessert), one sandwich, and two iced Americanos.

We both went with the nutty flavor for the iced Americanos. The snow bingsu had finely shaved ice topped with red beans, big tube-shaped injeolmi (rice cake), and nuts — sweet and easy to enjoy.

The sandwich also had a generous amount of lettuce and tomato, and eating it alongside the bingsu made for a light, satisfying meal.

The nutty Americano cut through the sweetness of the bingsu nicely, so the combo worked really well.

Laptop work at Chat Baker: outlets at every seat

I brought my laptop with me that day.

I worked on my blog on my laptop while my husband sat next to me watching a baseball game, each of us doing our own thing comfortably. Even though we came together for a date, it was really nice to just relax in the same space while each doing what we wanted.

For anyone looking for a large Pyeongtaek-Anseong café to sit quietly and spend some time in, I think this place would suit them well too.

We wrote a review and got a salt bread — it felt like an unexpected little gift. It's fun to browse the bakery display case, and with the review event on top of that, it's worth checking out when you visit.

My verdict on Chat Baker

What stuck with me most about Chat Baker, this Anseong Gongdo brunch café, was above all the spacious layout.

The place was so big that staying a long time never felt cramped, and it had a comfortable atmosphere for my husband and me to each do our own thing. With ceramics, music props, and even an outdoor terrace, there was fun in just looking around the space itself.

The snow bingsu, sandwich, and nutty iced Americano were all easy to enjoy lightly. For anyone looking for a large café around Pyeongtaek-Anseong, or wanting a relaxed weekend at a brunch café in Gongdo, Anseong, this place is worth a visit. Next time I'd like to come with a bit more room in my stomach and try the brunch menu too.
