When you meet friends near Gangnam Station, you always end up hunting for a big café with plenty of seats and a relaxed mood, right? I visited Selected Nicks (셀렉티드닉스), a large Gangnam Station café and cultural space you can enjoy from the basement all the way up to the rooftop ✨

Where is Selected Nicks and what kind of space is it?

Selected Nicks is a large café on Teheran-ro 4-gil, in the alley between Gangnam and Yeoksam stations. Walking along that alley, you arrive at its stylish entrance! The modern, hip feel starts right at the door, so my expectations shot up before I even went in ✨

Inside, there was a floor guide listing everything from the basement gallery to the lounge and the rooftop! It felt less like a simple café and more like a cultural space where you can enjoy exhibitions and rest together 🪜

In the middle of the inner part of the 1st floor, stylish props and goods are on display. The space is wide and open, so browsing felt relaxed and not stuffy at all ✨

At the counter there is a menu with photos of coffee, signature drinks and desserts. Photos and descriptions are laid out neatly, so it was easy to pick what I wanted 📋

Inside the showcase, tidy and appetizing baked goods and bakery items were lined up! Neatly placed under the lights, I wanted to try every single one 🥐

The many kinds of desserts were arranged so neatly that picking by taste looked really easy! The packaging is stylish too, so they'd make a nice light gift 🎁

What does the tiramisu at Selected Nicks taste like?

The handmade tiramisu at Selected Nicks is a cake with soft cream between thick sponge layers, topped generously with choco crunch balls. The buzzer went off and I brought back my order! The tiramisu on a gray square tray and the cold metal-cup drinks looked clean together ✨

The sweet tiramisu and cool drinks were plated with no fuss, and I was hooked on the look before taking a bite ☕🍰

This is the real handmade tiramisu sitting solidly in the middle of the plate! Soft cream between the thick sponge layers, with plenty of crispy choco crunch balls on top 🌿

Before digging in with my fork I snapped the side, and the balance of cream and sponge was just perfect! A bittersweet cocoa powder aroma drifted up, and it looked mouthwatering 😋

Drinks at Selected Nicks come in stainless steel metal cups, so they stay cold for a long time. I set the metal-cup drinks on the white table! Because the cups are stainless steel, the cold lasted ages and it was really refreshing 🧊

The cool fizz filled my mouth and washed away my thirst ✨

The drink mingled with the ice packed to the top, perfect for staying cold to the last sip! It looked clean and refreshing, ideal for gulping down on a hot day 🧊

Here is the tangy ade with its fresh, clear yellow tint! A fragrant fruit scent spread softly, and my eyes got to taste the coolness first 🍋

I stirred it gently with the straw and the zingy fizz and sweet-sour flavor came together so refreshingly! A bite of sweet tiramisu, a sip of ade, and I spent a lovely, healing stretch of time 💛
