Looking for a light but filling lunch near Gyodae Station
While deciding what to eat for lunch, I wanted a clean yet satisfying meal, so I headed to the nearby Salering Gyodae Direct Store.

I am usually interested in managing my diet, and I had been looking for something light that would still cover a good balance of nutrients. Since it is near Gyodae Station, I visited in person this time and got takeaway.

The store had a hygienic, tidy atmosphere overall, so I felt comfortable using it.

Kiosk ordering and a varied menu
I ordered at the kiosk, and wine and beer are available too.

Perhaps because many office workers come by at lunchtime, turnover was quick, and takeaway and delivery orders kept coming in.

I thought it would be nice to come back later for a solo meal in the store. Looking over the menu, I found various salads and poke, plus bowls and pasta generously packed with protein.

It was a great setup both for people dieting and for anyone making sure to get protein to build muscle. After some deliberation, I decided to order one flame-grilled steak protein bowl and one chicken-thigh protein pasta.

They were ₩14,500 and ₩13,500 respectively, coming to ₩28,000 total. After a short wait, the takeaway was neatly packed and ready.

Takeaway with sauces packed separately
I liked that everything was carefully packed in containers so it was easy to carry away and eat. I could choose from the included sauces according to my taste: myeongran wasabi mayo (pollock roe wasabi mayonnaise) for the flame-grilled steak protein bowl, and rosé onion sauce for the chicken-thigh protein pasta.

The sauces were packed separately so they would not get mixed in, letting me adjust them as I liked. Once I laid out the takeaway on the table, it looked appetizing enough to catch my eye right away. Fresh vegetables filled the containers, and the generous meat toppings made it clear that the portions were truly plentiful for the price.

Chicken-thigh protein pasta taste
The chicken-thigh protein pasta came topped with big pieces of chicken thigh, making it a dish I wanted to give a passing grade on looks alone. It included a full 150 g of chicken thigh as the standard protein portion, so it was very high in protein, and the meat was wonderfully moist rather than dry. The pasta also absorbed the sauce well, making the combination fantastic. Its savory yet smooth flavor brought the chicken thigh and noodles together perfectly.

Flame-grilled steak protein bowl taste
The flame-grilled steak protein bowl had no unpleasant meat smell at all, and its gentle smoky aroma spread rich savoriness through my mouth with every bite. The 130 g standard portion of meat was generous too, so I never felt short on protein while eating it with rice. The rice underneath, fresh vegetables, corn, and crispy toppings all came together for lots of different textures. Dipping it lightly in the sauce added a smooth sweet-and-spicy flavor that brought out the meat even more.

Paired with the vegetables, it did not feel heavy; it was easy on my stomach while keeping me full for a long time. I had taken it away for what I expected to be a light lunch, but it turned out to be a much more filling and nutritious meal than I expected, so I was very satisfied.

Recommended for lunch or solo dining in Seocho-dong
If you are looking for a healthy, delicious meal around Seocho-dong, I definitely recommend stopping by. It is great for office workers wanting a light lunch, and it is also perfect for eating alone in the store or taking away for an easy meal. There are plenty of dishes to enjoy deliciously without diet stress, so I think I will be coming back often.
