Sejong restaurant for beef pho and tom yum before Costco: Mekong Thai
In short
Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch is a casual Vietnamese and Thai restaurant on the 3rd floor of Sejong Machi, Doum 8-ro, in Eojin-dong, Sejong. Before a Costco run, a husband and wife ordered beef pho (12,900 won) and tom yum goong (spicy-sour Thai shrimp soup, 16,900 won), loading the huge bowl of pho with bean sprouts and alternating it with the tangy, spicy tom yum. For pho and Thai food at the same table, Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch is a solid choice.

Before Costco shopping, a stop at Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch
Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch serves Vietnamese and Thai food together in Eojin-dong, Sejong, so my husband and I stopped by for a solid meal before our Costco run. This was Costco shopping day with my husband! Once you start shopping it tends to take forever, so gotta eat something filling first haha
My husband said he wanted Vietnamese food, so we headed to Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch, a well-known spot near Sejong Lake Park. I love pho too, especially loaded with bean sprouts lol. Here's my review after enjoying pho and tom yum goong together^^

Location, hours, and parking at Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch
Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch is located at 91 Doum 8-ro, Sejong Machi Room 302, Sejong, South Korea.

Open from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM! Building parking is also available, so it was convenient to visit by car.

It's also close to Sejong Lake Park, so the location is good when you're looking for a restaurant in Eojin-dong after a walk in the park.
What's the atmosphere like at Mekong Thai?
Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch is bright, clean, and has plenty of tables, so it looked good for dates, family meals, or gatherings. Walking in, the whole place felt bright and clean! The clean yet exotic vibe really made it feel like we were there for Vietnamese and Thai food^^

The comfortable atmosphere made it feel less like a rushed meal before grocery shopping and more like a place to sit and eat slowly.

Above all, the menu is varied, so pho lovers like me can pick something familiar,

and if you usually like Thai food, you can try something a bit different.

I thought this would work well no matter who you visit with when looking for a restaurant in Eojin-dong haha. It was also a good spot to eat well before or after a walk around Sejong Lake Park^^
What Mekong Thai's name means and the menu lineup
Mekong Thai apparently got its name from the Mekong River flowing through Southeast Asia and Thailand. It's an Asian food casual restaurant where you can enjoy dishes from both Vietnam and Thailand!

There's a variety of pho, plus pad thai, fried rice, and sides, so it was easy to pick according to taste. I liked that among restaurants near Sejong Lake Park, this one lets you enjoy not just pho but a range of Asian food in one place haha.
What we ordered: beef pho and tom yum goong
- Beef pho ₩12,900
- Tom yum goong ₩16,900
My husband wanted Vietnamese food and I love pho, so ordering the beef pho was a no-brainer.

On top of that, we also ordered Thailand's signature dish, tom yum goong!
Mekong Thai beef pho ₩12,900 — how big is the portion?
Mekong Thai's beef pho comes in a huge bowl, generously filled. The moment it arrived, my eyes went straight to that huge bowl haha

It was so generously portioned that just looking at it felt satisfying.

Loads of tender beef, warm broth, and noodles slurped right up~ When I eat pho, I really love piling it high with bean sprouts lol. Crunchy bean sprouts with noodles and beef in one bite! That's the taste right there^^ The sauces set out on the table let you season to your own preference, so it was good to the very last bite.
Mekong Thai tom yum goong ₩16,900 — what does it taste like?
Mekong Thai's tom yum goong was the Thai signature dish we ordered alongside the pho. Tom yum goong!

It has shrimp and mushrooms, and you can taste the aroma of spices like lemongrass and cilantro.

Tangy and spicy is the defining trait, and switching back and forth with the beef pho gave it a whole other charm haha.

If you want pho and Thai food together
Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch had a solid menu lineup for enjoying pho and Thai food together in one visit. Eating well with my husband before our Costco run made for a good, full-stomach day^^
Especially satisfying for me as a pho lover — a huge bowl piled with bean sprouts haha. If you're looking for a restaurant near Sejong Lake Park, I think it's worth trying the beef pho and tom yum goong together at Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch^^
