Burger restaurant at Seoul Station with 2-hour free parking: Wit&Meat
In short
Wit&Meat Seoul Station is a Blue Ribbon–listed handmade burger restaurant on the lobby level of Grand Central in Jung-gu, Seoul. On the way home from work, a couple tried the All Mighty Burger set (17,000 won) and the Chili Cheese Bacon Burger set (18,300 won). Apart from slightly salty bacon, the patty and vegetables were well balanced and never got tiresome. Dining in at Wit&Meat Seoul Station comes with 2 hours of free parking, making it a recommended meal before or after a KTX train.

On the way home from work, my husband and I were craving a juicy handmade burger for the first time in a while, so I went looking for a good burger place near Seoul Station. One spot kept coming up in reviews, both for people catching the KTX and for office workers nearby grabbing lunch or dinner. It's a Blue Ribbon burger shop that people rave is even better than Five Guys: Wit&Meat Seoul Station (위트앤미트 서울역점). Here's how our visit went!
Wit&Meat Seoul Station: location, parking and opening hours

Wit&Meat Seoul Station is a 3-minute walk from the Seoul Station underground passage, so it's really easy to get to. If you dine in, parking is free for 2 hours too!

It's open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (last order 8 p.m.), but there's a break time from 3:30 to 5 p.m., so I'd just avoid that window!

The interior has a moody look, as if the New York subway had been picked up and dropped right inside. It was a perfect space for a cozy date with my husband and a little change of mood.
The menu and the burgers we ordered

The Wit&Meat Seoul Station menu has a varied lineup, from American-style handmade burgers to clam chowder soup, jambon-beurre (ham and butter baguette sandwich) and banana pudding.

After some deliberation, we ordered the classic All Mighty Burger set and the Chili Cheese Bacon Burger set. As you'd expect from a Blue Ribbon place, the savory smell of patties grilling drifted from the back of the shop, and we were hugely excited before the food even arrived.
All Mighty Burger vs. Chili Cheese Bacon Burger: taste comparison

All Mighty Burger set, ₩17,000. The All Mighty Burger I had came with a juicy patty, cheese and salty bacon, plus red onion and lettuce. The bacon seemed a little salty at first, but the crunchy veggies and the meat patty were nicely balanced. I never got tired of it, all the way to the last bite!

Chili Cheese Bacon Burger set, ₩18,300. My husband's Chili Cheese Bacon Burger tasted like it was topped with a deeply flavorful ragù pasta sauce. It only has a hint of spicy aroma, so even people who can't handle spice can enjoy it without any worry!
How were the set fries?

I tried a bite of the set fries that came with the burgers, and they were freshly fried and so crispy. I always think a burger place's true quality is decided by its fries, and these were better than I expected. The chili sauce on the Chili Cheese Bacon Burger was so rich and savory that the moment I tasted it I thought, "If only I'd swapped my side for chili cheese fries!" Such a pity.
Verdict: how does it compare to Five Guys?

After trying it myself, I immediately understood why everyone says it's "tastier and cleaner than Five Guys." It's not overly greasy or salty, and it's a well-made handmade burger tuned to Korean tastes, so I was really satisfied!
Since it's right by Seoul Station, I'd strongly recommend it for a weekday dinner on the commute, or for anyone wanting a tasty meal around a KTX train ride. On a budget of ₩10,000–20,000, you get both the flavor and the feel of the US, so it's a great-value burger spot at Seoul Station.
