Ttukseom café at 8 pm: decaf TWG tea, Blanc before sell-out, Notldun

Notldun is where I found my life-changing Ttukseom café cake! If you love desserts, this Ttukseom dessert café is a must-visit at least once. It has held the spot of my favorite cake place since my very first visit~

Where is Notldun and how do you get there?

Notldun is inside the alley of the Seongsu café street, on the 1.5th floor, about a 10-minute walk from Seoulsup Station or Ttukseom Station. It's on the main café street, so if you follow the map properly you won't get lost!

When you walk in, the all-white interior opens up wide and bright. It feels clean and tidy, which makes a good first impression!

How many seats does Notldun have, and is it crowded in the evening?

Notldun is small, with about five 2-person tables. We went on a weekday around 8 pm, pretty late, and it seemed quiet~? But 10 minutes later a crowd suddenly poured in and even the remaining desserts sold out, haha

Only about ten people can be inside at once, so it's hard to get a seat at busy times like weekends. I usually go late in the evening, but word has spread about this Ttukseom dessert café, so these days it's often full even late at night!

In nice weather, taking your order to go and eating on a bench in Seoulsup park would be such a romantic Seoul-life moment~,,

Notldun's madeleines and petit gâteaux

The first things that catch your eye as you step into Notldun are the baked goods (madeleines) and the petit gâteaux!

True to a Ttukseom dessert café, the baked goods are top quality, so you'll be happy with whatever you pick. When we visited, five madeleine flavors were left: vanilla, raspberry, Earl Grey, lime and pistachio!

They do box packaging in several sizes too, so Notldun is a great place to pick up a dessert gift~

Which Notldun cakes did we pick?

This time I chose the Notldun Signature Blanc and the Salted Caramel Mille-feuille. The cakes are so intricate and delicate you can't tell whether they're cakes or sculptures, so I agonized over the choice for ages,, The Forêt Noire was a rich cake with dark chocolate mousse cream, and this time my friend wanted the Salted Caramel Mille-feuille, so we went for it!

There's the Pistachio Festival for deep, intense pistachio, and the Notldun Signature Blanc!

The Notldun Signature Noix cake looked luxurious and delicious too, but I decided to try the Signature Blanc, which I'd never had!

Is there a caffeine-free drink for the evening?

Notldun requires one drink per person, and besides coffee there's a range of teas from the French brands Mariage Frères and TWG decaf. So even people sensitive to caffeine can enjoy a dessert pairing without worry!

We can't have caffeine in the evening either, so we ordered the TWG Cream Caramel tea (iced) and a strawberry latte, haha

The TWG decaf Cream Caramel tea, rooibos-based, is fragrant and classy any time of day! It isn't cloyingly sweet and the clean aroma is the highlight, so with sweet desserts it's a perfect combination, haha

And these were almost too pretty to eat: the Notldun Signature Blanc and the Salted Caramel Mille-feuille! I've been to lots of other Ttukseom dessert cafés, but almost none reach this level of polish (if you know one, please tell me...)

What does Notldun's Signature Blanc taste like?

The Notldun Signature Blanc is a mousse cake combining French white chocolate, raspberry cream and pistachio cream. It was my first time, and from looks alone I couldn't guess the flavor, but the harmony of the three was fantastic, haha

Cut in half, soft mousse cream is stacked in many layers, and each layer has a slightly different texture and flavor, so every bite tastes different! The white chocolate + pistachio + raspberry combo isn't overly sweet and never got tiresome to the end, and the crunchy base crust with the melting mousse cream was just fantastic,,,

Notldun strawberry latte

Next, the mild, sweet Notldun strawberry latte! It's packed with fresh strawberry syrup, and instead of artificial sweetness you taste the gentle sweetness of the strawberry flesh!

Notldun nails the drinks too~ A Ttukseom dessert café that even people who can't drink coffee can enjoy without pressure, haha

Is Notldun's Salted Caramel Mille-feuille very sweet?

The Notldun Salted Caramel Mille-feuille has vanilla, caramel and butter but wasn't overly sweet. I ate it as the last dessert, and it carried a nutty, sweet salted caramel flavor as lovely as its looks~

The cream layer, full of real vanilla flavor, adds depth to the taste!

The chocolate set in the center was rich but not too sweet, so I never got tired of it until the end

The crunchy texture is oddly addictive and satisfying to chew, and it isn't very sweet, so I thought it would make a good gift for older folks! The nutty flavor was totally my style

Cut in half, it's firmly filled with vanilla cream, and the crispy crust has a taste and texture any Korean would love, haha

When should you go to Notldun to avoid sell-outs?

If you arrive late at peak times like weekends, quite a few items at Notldun are already sold out, so when you get to Seoulsup it's best to stop here before anywhere else. For about the same money, I think picking several desserts at Notldun would be far more satisfying than most hotel afternoon teas,,,
