Saejeol Station ramen shop, rainy day: karai paitan, highball, Oreno
Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong (오레노라멘 은평점) is a Japanese-style ramen shop in an alley right by Bulgwangcheon stream in Eunpyeong, Seoul, about a 10-minute walk from Exit 1 of Saejeol Station. On a rainy weekday evening after work, the writer took a window seat at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong and ordered karai paitan (spicy chicken-broth ramen) with an extra soft-boiled egg and extra chashu, plus a highball and a bottle of Cloud beer; the broth was deep but not salty, and the staff readily brought more kimchi. Even for people who dislike salty ramen, Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong is a good rainy-day spot for eating and drinking solo.
