An honest review of the mixed pork set at Yukmong Yongsan

Anyone looking for a place for a company dinner in Yongsan, listen up! I went to a genuinely delicious Korean pork BBQ restaurant. A staff member grilled everything for us, so it was super easy!

This is Yukmong Yongsan, near Samgakji. There were four of us adults and we sat on the first floor, but there's a second floor too! There were way more tables than I expected.

This place always has a long wait, so we booked ahead. To cut to the chase... places with big waitlists always have a reason, haha! It's genuinely delicious.

The first thing I noticed walking into Yukmong was that it's much bigger than I expected. It's lively but not chaotic, exactly the kind of vibe you want for grilled meat and a drink.
Yukmong's recommended menu: the mixed pork set

We ordered the signature mixed pork set. Even in the photo you can see how bright red and fresh the meat looks. It's a combo of pork belly, snowflake pork collar, and skirt meat all at once, so if it's your first visit, definitely order this first.
The meat was cut nice and thick, so my expectations were already rising before it even hit the grill. Meat should look delicious even before it's cooked, right?
Does Yukmong grill the meat for you?
Yes, they do! And really well too!

And here's the part I really loved. A staff member grills the meat for you from start to finish.

They seemed to know exactly the right grilling order for each cut and cut the meat into bite-sized pieces, so all we had to do was eat comfortably.

At any company dinner or gathering, someone always ends up busy grilling the whole time. Here there's none of that, so we could just chat and actually enjoy the meat properly.
Personally, the snowflake pork collar was the best

My personal favorite from the set was the snowflake pork collar, ugh!! Pork collar can turn dry if it's not grilled right, but Yukmong's snowflake pork collar was seriously... so tender.

The outside was golden brown but the juices stayed locked in, so the more you chewed, the nuttier it tasted. I usually prefer pork belly, but on this day the snowflake pork collar was more memorable. I get why it's the popular item.

The pork belly had a great fat-to-meat ratio too. The staff grilled it nice and crispy, so every bite had juiciness, and it was delicious even with just a light dip in salt.

The meat quality itself was so good that we didn't feel the need to load it up with extras. We didn't leave a single piece, cleaned up the pork belly and all.
Recommended side dishes at Yukmong
Don't skip the brisket ramyeon

The brisket ramyeon (instant noodle soup) we ordered as a side dish was also really good. I had high expectations for a BBQ restaurant's ramyeon, and sure enough! With brisket in it, the broth was way richer and deeper.

Eating meat, then having a spoonful of hot broth, then going back for more meat. It wasn't too salty either, which made it even better.
The caviar cheese egg custard is also a treat

This is the caviar cheese egg custard (gyeranjjim) that had me curious just from the name. I thought, how special could egg custard really be, probably just herring roe or something... but it was actual real caviar!!

The salty umami of real caviar combined with a generous amount of cheese made it so smooth and perfect to eat alongside the meat. Plus, eating it hot kept me coming back for more.
Four adults, seriously full by the end

The basic table setup comes with lots of sauces, plus a self-serve bar with pickled radish and radish salad. There were four of us adults, and we ordered the mixed pork set, one extra serving of pork belly, brisket ramyeon, and caviar cheese egg custard. We left seriously full.
