I went not long ago with my boyfriend~ They say the place has hygiene and cooking philosophy learned in Germany, 23 years of know-how built on eel alone, and a secret eel recipe passed down for two generations, so I'm introducing a Homaesil eel restaurant that really knows its eel 😃

The menu at 99Jangeo88 has a range of eel dishes, from salt-grilled eel to seasoned grilled eel, eel rice bowls and eel soup. It's good for a meal with your parents, and great as a Homaesil date course with your boyfriend too!

The side dishes were ginger, perilla leaves, onion, pickled chives and aged kimchi. They went really well with the eel.

For sauces you get ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) and eel sauce, and you can mix wasabi into the eel sauce, so I never got tired of the flavor.

The eel at 99Jangeo88 arrives pre-grilled, so once it's on the table you only need to grill it about 3 minutes per side. Not having to grill it from scratch made eating so easy~

It had been ages since I had thick salt-grilled eel, and my mouth was watering. I couldn't wait to dig in haha. Since it comes pre-grilled, there was no gamey smell, and it was exactly that plump eel: crispy outside, moist inside.

99Jangeo88 Suwon Homaesil Branch has roomy seating for 40 in total, so it suits group dinners and family gatherings too. Lunch specials and takeout are available as well. The freshwater eel was fresh, and I'd like to come back with my parents later.

I heard 99Jangeo88 has appeared on broadcasts like KBS, SBS and MBC, which made me trust it even more. It's close to Suwon Centum Hospital and Hwahong Hospital in Homaesil, and many people come for stamina food. Eel is the best stamina food for looking after your health in any season~ haha. I really love healthy food.

Complimentary shiitake doenjang stew

Doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) comes as standard at 99Jangeo88, with shiitake mushrooms in it, and it was so good. Bubbling in an earthenware pot, it suited my taste perfectly. I wanted some broth while eating grilled eel, and this was just right.

They say eel is rich in vitamins A and D as well as iron, helping boost immunity, restore energy and support healthy skin. It's great as a dutiful-child spread for special days like your parents' birthdays or Parents' Day, and the staff and the owner were so kind too, so I was very happy with 99Jangeo88!

How did the salt eel taste, and how was it in a wrap?

The seasoned eel at 99Jangeo88 is good, but the salt eel is delicious too. Next time I'll have to come back for the Sakuraya eel rice bowl. I really can't find anyone around me who doesn't like eel, so if you're looking for an eel restaurant in Suwon, this is the one I'd recommend.

Add perilla leaf and kimchi, then a lettuce wrap with garlic, and take a bite. The moment you do, you say "Ahhh, so this is why it's famous!" That's this Homaesil eel restaurant!

It's a place with 23 years of know-how built on eel alone, so it tasted different from, and better than, other places. There was a fire under the eel, so we could keep eating it warm for a long time.

We finished every bit, as if the eel had never been there. Eel has so many good effects that someone like me should eat it often and for a long time, so maybe I should have bought some eel extract.. haha
