“Isn’t there something quick but filling for breakfast?” This is how mornings always begin at our house. I tend to check the ingredients first when choosing soy milk, and this time I had the chance to try Garu Teacher Tameokneun Saeng Soy Milk. I went with the injeolmi flavor.

With nine flavors to choose from, it was fun deciding! I picked the injeolmi soy milk.
A nutty injeolmi aroma the moment I opened it

The second I opened it, that nutty injeolmi aroma came right up. Such a wonderfully roasted, savory scent! I wanted to taste it straight away.
It comes with its own measuring scoop.

Scooping up the powder with it, I found the texture fine and fluffy.

Will it dissolve well in cold water?
The recommended ratio on the package is two included scoops for one glass of water, 150–180 ml. I mixed it exactly as recommended.

It dissolved quickly when I stirred it well in cold water. There was no need to first mix it with hot water, which is so convenient in the morning.

It tastes very, very nutty—like misutgaru (multigrain powder drink). It was richer and less watery than I expected. The powder gradually settled as I drank it, so I recommend giving it a stir now and then!

Mixed with milk, it becomes an injeolmi latte

For my second try, I mixed it into cold milk. Personally, I found it tastier and more filling than mixing it with water.

It is smoother and fuller-bodied than when mixed with water, like drinking a glass of injeolmi latte.

I’m a lover of old-fashioned Korean-style desserts, so I tried it with the trendy Chang-eok tteok (soft rice cake). Ahh... it was incredibly delicious! One bite of soft rice cake, then a sip of nutty injeolmi soy milk. I thought this would be lovely to serve when guests come over, too.
It also works as a Greek yogurt topping

My third method was using it as a topping rather than a drink. I sprinkled the injeolmi powder over Greek yogurt and mixed it in.

The tangy yogurt turned into wonderfully nutty Greek yogurt. I topped it with chocolate granola too and made it into breakfast, and my child said it was delicious and scraped the bowl completely clean.
Korean-grown soybean ingredients and flavor

According to the ingredient label, it is made with 100% Korean-grown soybeans. The soybean content was listed as 70.3%.

Perhaps because it is made from the ingredients themselves rather than soy milk flavored with artificial additives, my mouth felt clean even after drinking it. The focus is the natural nuttiness of soybean powder rather than an artificial sweetness, so it was nice to share with my child, too.
Storage instructions

Keep it in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Moisture can make the powder clump, so it is best to use the dry included scoop when serving it out. The best-before period is 12 months from the manufacturing date, so it felt generous enough to enjoy slowly.
Who I recommend it for
- Anyone who skips meals because mornings are too busy
- Anyone who loves the old-fashioned flavors of soybean powder and misutgaru
- Anyone who finds mixing powder with hot water a hassle
- Anyone looking for a healthy, nutty drink instead of ready-made beverages
After trying it in several ways, I found Garu Teacher Tameokneun Saeng Soy Milk Injeolmi Flavor to be a satisfying product for a household that loves nutty flavors. You can simply mix it with water, enjoy it in milk like an injeolmi latte, or use it as a yogurt topping, so it was more versatile than I expected. Next time, I’m thinking of sprinkling it over bingsu (shaved ice dessert). I recommend it as a snack for children and as a protein soy milk option for adults, too.
