This Bucheon bar I visited turns out to be a special Sangdong Station find, one where you can get quality atmosphere and snacks along with the drinks, boosting satisfaction on both the food and drinks front. Let me introduce a spot with a different kind of vibe that's great for a light drink or two!

People & Peoples, a bar in Bucheon Sangdong, can be found about a 3-minute walk from Sangdong Station Exit 7. The area is packed with restaurants and bars, making it easy to set up an evening plan, and among them People & Peoples stood out with its vibe visible right from the exterior.

Inside People & Peoples: seating, and a full room even at 17:00 on a weekday

Even though I visited this Sangdong go-to on a weekday, early at around 17:00, the place was already full of customers. Besides the outdoor terrace seats, there are group tables with a street-food-stall feel, and standing tables further inside, some sectioned off with partitions for privacy while still keeping the atmosphere going.

What's on the menu at People & Peoples

The menu ranges widely — pizza, salad, gambas, pasta, lasagna, dry snacks, fruit, fried dishes, and soups. People & Peoples, this Bucheon Sangdong go-to, is famous for its pastry pizza and draft beer combo, and it's often visited for what locals call 'pi-maek' (pizza plus beer). After some deliberation, I decided to keep it (relatively) simple with lasagna and a cheese platter for a solo drinking session — here's how it went!

I ordered the cheese platter, lasagna, and a Hanmac cream draft beer. Since everything is cooked to order, lasagna and pizza can take a bit of time to come out, but even with the place busy (most people were ordering pizza or the basic lasagna), my food arrived faster than I expected.

The rich ragu flavor and the savory cheese come together in a way that honestly beats most pizza or pasta places. The portion is huge too — while a typical Western restaurant serves 1-2 people with this amount, here it's more like 3-4 servings. It's a seriously generous size, so if there are two of you planning to order pizza alongside it, be careful — haha.

Cheese platter, 27,000 won for a spread that goes beyond cheese

The cheese platter at People & Peoples is ₩27,000. It's a dish I order every once in a while, and the one here at this Bucheon Sangdong go-to turned out to be generous and eye-catching. On the wooden platter, it wasn't just cheese — there were crackers, fruit, nuts, and dry snacks too, giving a variety of flavors and textures to enjoy.

The cheese wasn't just one type — there were cubes, tear-and-eat cheese, and more, so there was fun in comparing flavors as I went. Rather than a simple cheese snack, it works better as a hearty single dish for a drinking table. The platter is quite generous, so it's a good pick for a group to share, whether pairing it with wine or beer while chatting.

The cheese selection was more varied than I expected, which made comparing flavors enjoyable, and the freshness of the fruit paired with the sweetness and crunch of the nuts and the crispness of the crackers made for a more enjoyable spread overall. Compared to a platter made up of only premium cheeses, the variety here made it feel much richer.

A lot of bars rely on simple frozen foods for their menu, but People & Peoples, this Bucheon Sangdong go-to, clearly puts passion into its dishes — the very first bite made me feel like this was more of a proper restaurant than just a bar. I didn't try every single item on the menu, but I get the feeling anything you order here would be delicious.
