Seongnam Italian dinner with mushroom cream risotto: Andover

I heard there was a really good pasta place in Baekhyeon Village Café Street in Bundang, Seongnam, so I went on a date with my mom. To give you the conclusion first: insanely... delicious!! Looking back at the photos while writing this 😆 I already want to eat it again 😆

Andover location and dining hours

The address is 10-7 Pangyo-yeok-ro 10beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi. Hours are 11:30–22:00, with a break from 15:30–17:00, and it is regularly closed every Monday. You get one free hour if you use the Baekhyeon-dong Café Street public parking lot, and street parking is possible too.

The space felt full of character from the exterior onward,

and there is an outdoor terrace too, so I think it would be great for brunch in weather like this. They even had a tiny Marshall speaker. The door handle was made of stone, and those little details were so cute too.

It seems the owner buys flowers every day and decorates the place beautifully with fresh blooms.

The pink flowers were so pretty and kept catching my eye, putting me in a good mood before we had even started eating. 💗🌸💐💗🌸💐

And it is fun to look around the black-and-white space too 🖤 The table next to us had yellow flowers 💛🌼🌻💛🌼🌻

The risotto came out first,

then the pasta,

and finally the flounder.

They look seriously delicious right from the visuals alone, don't they..? ♡

How was the mushroom cream risotto?

The moistly roasted king oyster mushrooms gave off a subtle mushroom aroma, and paired with the rich, smooth cream sauce, it was truly a perfect match. Eating it with arugula meant it was not heavy at all. Rather than a simple cream flavor, I was impressed by the carefully made sauce: light yet deep and rich.

Whole shrimp bisque pasta and flounder steak

The pasta uses a rich bisque sauce made by steeping shellfish, so it is full of deep, savory seafood flavor—such a rich, nutty seafood taste that you can really feel its depth. Ahh~! It comes with three large shrimp, and they were plump and substantial; need I even say how good they were? I gasped the moment I took a bite.

The flounder steak was much thicker than I expected and quite large too. Best of all, every bone had been removed so it was easy to eat; it felt like it melted away the moment it went into my mouth. The fish's savory oil blends with the oil in the dish, making it impossible to stop reaching for more. Dip the baguette that comes with the set generously into the sauce, and it really gets your appetite going.

All three dishes we ordered were so delicious that I became curious about the other menu items too, and I am already wondering what I will have next time I come back.

We enjoyed it so much that we cleaned every last bit off our plates, haha.

Finishing with wine and warm tea

It is a lovely place to enjoy a meal with wine. It looked like lots of people hold wine gatherings here too. Some guests had wine stored at the restaurant, and I also saw groups who had brought their own bottles.

My mom and I finished our meal with a cup of warm tea 🍵 The owner was so kind too, and I am absolutely thrilled to have found such a great restaurant. I will be back!
