Where to find New York Apartment near Hapjeong Station

I went to New York Apartment, a well-known spot in the Hapjeong Prugio commercial building. If you come out exit 8 of Hapjeong Station or the Starbucks exit, just follow that street into the next building and past the GS25 convenience store — it's easy to find.

This place is quietly famous — everyone hears about it through word of mouth and recommends it to each other. I think I came here once a long time ago, but this was my first visit in a very long while.

From outside it's all floor-to-ceiling glass, but the entrance feels a bit like walking into a restaurant kitchen, which is oddly unique. And can you see all those blue ribbon marks? This place is a genuine hotspot... there's a reason it keeps coming up whenever people ask for Hapjeong restaurant recommendations.

Once you walk in, there are cute figurines on display — everything from anime to Disney to Pixar, so you can browse them while paying.

Interior atmosphere and seating

The inside of New York Apartment is quite spacious. The back feels like a bar you'd go hang out at in the evening, while the window side has a completely different vibe with sunlight pouring in. You can sit either way depending on your mood.

Menu lineup and tips for ordering the set

New York Apartment's signature dish is the handmade burger, but they also have a Texas BBQ combo set, steak, sandwiches, pasta, shakes, and salads. Since there's a set menu, we tried that — burger 1 + pasta 1 + fries 1 + drinks 2, which works well for two people. The downside is there are lots of burger varieties here, but the set menu limits which burgers you can choose, so if you have a specific burger in mind, order it à la carte instead.

We ordered Zero Coke for the drinks, and they both came out matching. The cups were cute too haha.

Each table has a kiosk for additional orders anytime, plus wet wipes, plastic gloves, napkins, salt and pepper, hot sauce, and cutlery already set out.

Everything we ordered arrived. I've had the burgers here a few times before, but this was my first time trying the pasta, so I was looking forward to it.

How the fries and shrimp aglio olio tasted

The fries included in the set are the thin-cut type. You know the thin fries drizzled with honey at VIPS or Ashley? It's similar to that — great texture and genuinely delicious. I kept reaching for more.

These would make a great beer snack too — I enjoyed these fries so much I want them again...

And then there was the shrimp aglio olio (garlic and oil pasta) — honestly one of the best pastas I've had in a while. I didn't expect much since this is known as a burger place, so I was genuinely surprised by how good it was. Seeing the torched shrimp heads on top, you could tell they really extracted proper flavor for this pasta, sob. This is pasta worth paying for outside, in my opinion.

The friend I went with actually cooks and really knows food, and they texted me again that night saying it was so good and they wanted to eat it again haha haha haha. It was just so unexpectedly delicious that I really want to go back. Ordering that was the right call.

It had a completely different charm from just going to eat a burger — New York Apartment really is a great handmade burger date spot in Hapjeong.

New York Cheese Burger and the Diet Burger

Finally, I cut into the handmade burger — I ordered the New York Cheese Burger, the most basic option among the burgers available in the set. It's a beef patty handmade burger with New York cheese stuff added on top, so how could it not be good? These classics really are the tastiest.

It's said to have beef patty, American cheese, romaine, tomato, red onion, and thousand island sauce. The sauce was good, but even more than that, the flavor of the beef patty and cheese was rich. This confirms it — beef patty burgers really should be handmade burgers. The texture, the meaty aroma, and the char flavor were all so good.

And here's my friend's burger, prettily taken apart(?). There's one burger at New York Apartment that really deserves to be eaten this way — the "Diet Burger." It's said to have 2 beef patties, 2 cheddar cheeses, smoked steak, onion rings, a fried egg, and barbecue sauce — it's seriously tall... If you've got a big appetite, give it a try.

Wow, but I really enjoyed everything. I actually wasn't that hungry when we went, but I think I ended up enjoying every single dish.

Out of everything, this pasta is the one that stuck with me most. It tastes like something you couldn't make at home, so you have to go out and buy it. Of course, the handmade burger is the same — you absolutely can't make that at home either... If you're going out to eat, this is the kind of food you should be ordering.

Ah, it was seriously so good.
