Namyangju river-view brunch, rainy weekday with Mom & sister: Romaok
In short
Romaok Riverside (로마옥 리버사이드) is a Han River-view Italian restaurant and brunch café on the riverfront at Mieumnaru in Namyangju, Gyeonggi. On a rainy weekday afternoon, the writer, her mom and her sister shared scallion ciabatta bread, a chicken cordon bleu Caesar salad (16,000 won), Napoli mare pomodoro pasta (27,000 won) and spinach mornay gnocchi (25,000 won); the gnocchi was the day's top pick. Romaok Riverside was less expensive than expected for a Han River view, making it a good spot for a filling brunch in Namyangju.

I went to Romaok Riverside (로마옥 리버사이드), a Mieumnaru restaurant in Namyangju with seriously good brunch!

Why Romaok Riverside for a rainy weekday brunch?
Romaok Riverside is a Han River-view brunch café in Namyangju that I rushed to with my mom and sister on a rainy weekday afternoon. It was drizzling, we were originally going to Grandma's but the rain was too heavy, so we suddenly headed to a Han River-view brunch café instead. Off we go, tap tap tap!

My sister leads the way, Mom follows, and I trail behind. I think it's going to be so good. Yummy yummy brunch~

Romaok Riverside reservations, parking and floor layout
- Reservations available
- 1 hour of free parking
- 1st floor restaurant / 2nd floor café
The sky was hazy, and maybe that's why Romaok Riverside looked even nicer. I love cafés on rainy days. You can see the Han River right in front, which makes the mood even better.

The mood is great in the daytime, and in the evening too 🫢👏🏻 This is Romaok, the Mieumnaru brunch spot and Han River-view café restaurant.

Good food plus wine is a really great combo, and in the daytime it's just right with coffee.

Romaok with its garden view, isn't it so pretty? The mood is great and the floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of sunlight. Above all, it's so clean and all the staff were so kind, which I loved.

They also have glasses that suit wine, so it's a good place for a glass of wine and a tasty main dish in the evening. There's a wide variety of dishes, and

the wine list is enormous too.

How ordering works at Romaok Riverside and what three of us ordered
At Romaok Riverside you order by tablet at the table, and the basic rule is one menu item per person. So convenient, right??? Here's what the three of us ordered.
- Chicken cordon Caesar salad ₩16,000
- Napoli mare pomodoro pasta ₩27,000
- Spinach mornay gnocchi ₩25,000
- Extra bread, 3 pieces ₩3,000
- Americano ₩6,500
Order done!!!

You just check the number of people at the table and order. I thought I'd ordered two iced Americanos but accidentally got hot 🥲 The coffee was good though, so I slurped it all down.

Each table has a shelf beside it where you can put clothes or bags. It's so handy and nice. Mom's, my sister's and my bags all went up there!!!
Is the scallion ciabatta bread worth ordering extra?
At Romaok Riverside, each person gets one scallion ciabatta as the starter bread, and it was so good that the three of us added 3 more pieces (₩3,000). Oh my gosh, the bread is here! The scallion ciabatta comes warmed like it's fresh out of the oven and it's soooooo good. Even the olive oil is amazing.
An iced Americano came out too, and it's really good. Pure honey, I tell you.

Three bread lovers got together and ordered three more pieces, and the three pieces of scallion ciabatta were pure bliss. I think I could eat it every day.

Then we dug into brunch with pretty cutlery. I never imagined scallion would be this fragrant. Peperoncino in the olive oil is bliss. The three of us shared six pieces of bread, starter plus extra,

What is Romaok's chicken cordon bleu Caesar salad like?
The chicken cordon Caesar salad (₩16,000) at Romaok Riverside is basically a chicken cutlet salad, with chicken fried like a pork cutlet (donkatsu). The dressing is really good, and the lettuce comes out whole with the root, so you cut it up yourself.

This time I did the cutting hard-working style. Such a tasty salad, crunchy, and there's a ton of chicken. The salad is so good, highly recommend!
Napoli mare pomodoro pasta: ask for lighter seasoning
The Napoli mare pomodoro pasta (₩27,000) at Romaok Riverside is a seafood pomodoro pasta packed with clams, and you can choose mild seasoning. Eaten with basil it's so so good. There's shrimp, squid and a whole load of clams! Pickles come with it too.
You can pick mild seasoning, so I did, and it was a perfect choice. Even with mild seasoning, it was still fairly strong for our tastes.
Mom, the queen of our house, took the king prawn, and my sister and I enjoyed the rest, yummy yummy. We loved the shrimp, squid and pasta. The portion is quite big, so you get really full.

The day's top pick: spinach mornay gnocchi
The top pick for all three of us at Romaok Riverside that day was the spinach mornay gnocchi (₩25,000). Mom liked the chewy texture of the gnocchi, and my sister and I loved the sauce especially, so we ate it with great gusto,

and it's heavenly put on top of the starter bread too. The chewy potato gnocchi is so good.

With the spinach in it, it's mild and the spinach aroma is amazing. Romaok Riverside is the real deal for Namyangju eats.

I scooped up a big spoonful for Mom and my sister, then tried some myself. Ahh, I'm so so full.
Are prices high at this Han River-view restaurant?
Romaok Riverside is a Han River-view restaurant, so I expected it to be super expensive, but it wasn't that pricey. We were full but it was so tasty that we kept eating.

Romaok Riverside is great for eating lots and lots. If you want brunch in Namyangju, go to Romaok Riverside ⭐️

The chicken is so good!!! Eaten with the salad it's sooo good!!!!! The pasta had clams and basil, and the noodles were cooked just right. My stomach felt ready to burst, but we finished it all.

For a Mieumnaru restaurant in Namyangju with a Han River view, if you want brunch, go to Romaok!

Romaok Riverside parking fees and booking tips
Parking at Romaok Riverside is free for 1 hour, then ₩200 per 10 minutes. A low-emission vehicle discount is available too!!!

You can look at the menu outside before going in, and if you book through Naver (Korea's main search and booking app) you get a better seat 👏🏻 I really recommend Romaok's salad and gnocchi.
