It was our couple's anniversary today, so I went looking for an anniversary restaurant in Incheon and landed on Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna (숙성명작 청라), which had really great reviews! I love beef anyway, but this time I wanted properly aged hanwoo (Korean beef). It's famous as a beef spot in Cheongna, and it really was one of the best beef dishes I've ever had!!
Where is Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna, and is there parking?
Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna is at 14 Damji-ro 8beon-gil, Seohae-gu, Incheon, 1st floor, open 17:00-22:00 (closed Sundays). It sits between Lu One City and Cheongna, so it's a handy pick for a date in either area 😊
The exterior is done in wood and black tones, so you feel the upscale mood right away ✨ There's also a nicely made walking path in front of the restaurant, which is perfect for a slow stroll after eating 🌿 We walked it too, haha. Highly recommended for a Cheongna date or anniversary meal!!

The parking lot is big and you get 4 whole hours of free parking, so it's easy if you're driving 🚗 Suksung Myeongjak is a Cheongna restaurant that specializes in aged hanwoo!

You can check the menu in front of the entrance before going in,

and I heard it's been picked for the Blue Ribbon for 7 years in a row, which made me even more excited before we even walked in 😆 Both the food and the mood are recognized, so I'd really recommend it for family meals in Incheon, anniversary dates in Cheongna, or anyone looking for a wine restaurant in Cheongna 🤍
Is Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna a good anniversary restaurant?
With soft lighting, quiet music and elegant interiors, the mood was just right for an anniversary. The second we stepped inside, the atmosphere was so good 🥹✨ T_T
The seats are separated well enough that dining felt more private than I expected, and it wasn't noisy, so it was easy to talk 😊 Best of all, the staff are really kind! They explained the menu carefully and kept checking whether we needed anything throughout the meal, so we felt really well looked after 💛

Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna menu overview
They say Suksung Myeongjak is a premium hanwoo restaurant that selects top-grade hanwoo, ages it in-house, and serves it at its best! 🥩✨

The mains were striploin, tenderloin steak and beef tongue, and they also sell fancier dishes like yukhoe (beef tartare), tartare and sea urchin roe (uni)! 🤍 There were also sides that go well with beef, like pyeongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), perilla oil buckwheat noodles and seafood doenjang porridge!

Is corkage free at Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna?
Corkage is free at Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna, and they even chilled the wine we brought. Personally, if you visit, I really hope you'll have wine with it 🍷✨ The aged hanwoo itself has such rich flavor that it was a fantastic combination with wine, T_T
They also have a varied wine list, so you can choose to suit your taste, which was nice!

We wanted to enjoy the delicious beef even more, so we brought our own wine and used the corkage service! Free corkage was great, and they chilled the wine too, so it was really easy to enjoy 🍷💛
What we ordered for our anniversary dinner
- Mains: aged tenderloin, sea urchin roe, aged beef yukhoe (gochujang)
- Sides: perilla oil buckwheat noodles, spicy seafood doenjang porridge
- Drinks: house wine, grapefruit ade
Table setting and starter salad
The basic table setting was varied: salt, wasabi, whole grain mustard and steak sauce. Maybe because we visited with a reservation, everything was neatly prepared, and it was fun to try things however we liked 😋 The accompaniments like myeong-i namul (wild garlic-like leaves), jangajji (pickled vegetables), pickles and olives all felt carefully made too!

A salad came out first 🥗 It was dressed with yuzu dressing, and the fresh aroma really woke up my appetite!

The vegetables were really fresh, so I was happy from the appetizer on 💛
How is the gochujang beef tartare (yukhoe)?

The gochujang yukhoe (beef tartare with chili paste) was the first dish out, plated with baby greens ❤️ All of Suksung Myeongjak's dishes look so pretty T_T
But what surprised me more than the looks was the quality of the yukhoe!!! The color looked so fresh, and it melted in my mouth with the first bite, so tender T_T🤍

The gochujang seasoning isn't too sweet or harsh, just mildly spicy-sweet, so it brings out the nutty flavor of the hanwoo!

How was the caviar-topped sea urchin roe (uni)?
The sea urchin roe (uni) at Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna comes generously topped with caviar, plus gim (seaweed), pickled ginger, radish sprouts and wasabi, so you can enjoy it your own way! ✨

I tried the uni first, and there was no fishy taste at all, just a rich, sweet flavor spreading through my mouth!

Eating it with the caviar added a popping texture and lifted the flavor even more!! Who needs fine dining, haha. The uni itself was so good that wrapping it in a sheet of gim was also a great combo T_T!!
Maybe because it's a daily limited menu item, the freshness was really on another level 🤍 If you like uni, please do order this one!
Main course: aged hanwoo tenderloin grilled by the staff
The aged hanwoo tenderloin came generously with garnishes of mushroom, eggplant, shishito peppers and onion 🥩🔥 The tenderloin is quite thick, so the portion was more generous than I expected :> The meat quality was obvious at a glance, so my expectations shot up before I even ate, haha.
You can see the marbling even in the photo...! With the thin, fine marbling spread throughout, I couldn't wait to find out how juicy it would be! It looked delicious just to look at ❤️

Maybe because it's aged hanwoo, the grain of the meat was really fine and clear ✨ You could see with your own eyes that they use only carefully selected hanwoo! The staff grill it for you all the way through, with delicate attention to each doneness stage, and even the resting was timed just right, so we got to eat it at its best 👏

Finally, the first bite, haha. It really melted in my mouth, and it was the best beef I've ever had...🥹 (pure magic, it vanishes as soon as you eat it)

The doneness was perfect too! Nutty on the outside and juicy and moist inside, and it was the best combination with the garnishes 🌿 There were also plenty of sauces and side dishes, so it was fun to try a bit of everything 😋

Wine is a must with fancy drinking food 🍷 With the great atmosphere too, it was a really satisfying anniversary date meal!
The doenjang soup (soybean paste soup) that came with the meat was really good too! It's a clear, mildly spicy broth where the sweetness of the vegetables comes through naturally and it isn't greasy, so it goes really well with meat! I kept going back for more 😊
After the beef: perilla oil buckwheat noodles and seafood doenjang porridge
I totally recommend the perilla oil buckwheat noodles at Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna!! They're topped with mushrooms, gim, scallions, meat and a generous amount of sesame seeds, and the whole sesame seeds you bite into here and there are the real kick ✨ You sprinkle the perilla oil they give you over the buckwheat noodles and mix it all together!
The noodle texture was one I'd never had before, slightly thin and chewy, so maybe that's why the perilla oil soaked in so well!! A perfect way to finish after the meat, haha.

The spicy seafood doenjang porridge was really good too! (totally my style T_T)

It was so generous that every bite had squid, clams and other seafood, and the seafood broth melted right into the doenjang porridge, so the flavor was really deep T_T Wrapped in gamtae (seaweed), the savory flavor popped even more, and I finished every last bit 😋
Anniversary lettering cake at Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna
If you reserve in advance, Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna offers a lettering cheesecake service for birthdays or anniversaries 🎂 It's a soft style with rich cheese flavor, and it didn't feel like an ordinary service cake, so even dessert was really satisfying!
Is Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna worth it for an anniversary date?
Overall, I was really happy with 🤍 Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna 🤍

Even the raw dishes like the yukhoe and uni were outstandingly fresh, so I enjoyed them to the end 🥹 And above all, the aged hanwoo is an unforgettable taste!! 🥩 It's tender and juicy, and from the first bite I understood why it's famous as a beef spot in Cheongna 🤍
From mains to sides to dessert, not a single dish fell short 😊 On top of that, the staff are really kind and the mood is great, so it's a perfect place for an anniversary or special day 🌹

If you're looking for an anniversary restaurant in Incheon, a fine-dining restaurant in Incheon, or a Cheongna meat restaurant with a nice mood for a date, I'm confident recommending Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna 🥰
