Ttukseom Western restaurant: aligot steak & porcini gnocchi, Brivite

I'm normally a Korean-food person, but I went to Brivite Seongsu with my boyfriend for a proper date after ages 🍝 The mood and the food were so good that this place turned me into a Western-food person 〰️🤤

Where is Brivite Seongsu?

Brivite Seongsu is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 3/4 of Ttukseom Station 📍 I can't believe such a lovely Western restaurant was hiding in a quiet alley! 😮

The plants out front and the hot pink sign and entrance door caught my eye even before we went in 〰️👀💗

How do waiting and reservations work at Brivite Seongsu?

You join the waitlist through Catch Table, and for certain time slots you can also reserve ahead through Naver or Catch Table, which is handy! 📲

Since it was a Saturday, I went at around 5pm, an early dinner, just in case, and we were seated right away with no wait haha 🧑🏻‍💼

Atmosphere and seating at Brivite Seongsu

Inside Brivite Seongsu, soft lighting and a wood-toned interior make for a lovely mood 🪑✨ Seating is mostly tables for 2–4, and besides couples on dates like us, there were friends dining together and even people eating solo! 👥

There's also a self-service bar with tissues, wet wipes, water cups and pickles to go with your food 🙆🏻‍♀️

The restroom is just to the left after you step out of the restaurant, and the cute keyrings hanging there are a nice little touch 〰️ 🗝️🎀

Brivite Seongsu has a wide range of mains, including gnocchi, pasta, risotto and steak, plus sides 〰️ 🍝 There's also a good-value set for 2 with a main, a side and drinks! 👏👏

What does the spicy fried eggplant taste like?

The first dish to arrive was the side, spicy fried eggplant 🍆 Everyone in the reviews said it was great, so I ordered it with half worry, half excitement. If it tastes this good, I'll eat eggplant every day 😋

It's tasty on its own, but dipping it in the chipotle sauce that comes with it adds a creamy note and takes the flavor up a level 🆙

Porcini shrimp gnocchi, my number one

The porcini shrimp gnocchi is cream-based gnocchi with porcini mushrooms and shrimp 🦐🍄‍🟫 The thick, rich sauce has a subtle garlic aroma that keeps it from feeling heavy 〰️

The gnocchi is 100% handmade, crisp outside and chewy inside 👍 It went well with the cream sauce, and the combination of ingredients and the overall balance made it my number one dish 🏅

Brivite steak: cheese waterfall and sous vide flat iron

The Brivite steak arrived with a cheese waterfall show 🥩 It comes with aligot cheese, made by mixing mozzarella and mashed potato, and grilled vegetables: mushrooms, tomato and garlic! 🍅🧄🧀

The steak is sous vide flat iron (beef shoulder cut), so it was tender, not tough 〰️🤤 There was a wine sauce underneath, and it paired nicely with the steak! haha

The bread that came with it is another treat if you top it with leftover gnocchi sauce and shrimp 🥖⭐️ The Brivite steak is a generous combo of flat iron, grilled vegetables, sauce and bread, and the value is great too!

Is Brivite Seongsu a good Western restaurant for a date?

I recommend Brivite Seongsu to anyone looking for a Western restaurant with a lovely mood near Ttukseom Station or Seongsu Station 🍝 The value is good too, so it seems easy to visit for anniversaries and for everyday dates alike! 🤑
