What is Daepae Maket, a good-value BBQ restaurant in Daeyeon-dong?
Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon Branch is a good-value BBQ place in Daeyeon-dong serving everything from thin-sliced pork belly to duck and makchang (grilled beef intestine). I like meat, so whenever a new BBQ place opens I try to go at least once. This time I was wondering where to eat and kept hearing about Daepae Maket as a Daeyeon-dong favorite. People said the prices were fair and the variety was big, so I went without expecting too much, but I was quite satisfied. Eating out has gotten so expensive lately, so a good-value place like this is a welcome find.

How to get to Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon Branch and where to park
Come out of Exit 5 of Daeyeon Station and you get there faster than you'd think, and if you drive, they support 1 hour of parking. The route isn't hard, so even first-timers shouldn't get lost. Having 1 hour of parking support takes the pressure off for people coming by car. Personally, a restaurant that's easy to reach is easy to revisit, and in that sense it's a Daeyeon-dong spot I can fully recommend.

How many people can Daepae Maket's group seating hold?
I was told the group seating can hold up to 110 people, which looked like plenty for company dinners, family gatherings and club meetups. The first thing I noticed walking in was how spacious it is. The tables were nicely spaced and it didn't feel stuffy at all. It was lively but tidy, a comfortable atmosphere for a meal. A BBQ restaurant this size isn't common even among Daeyeon-dong's eateries.

Daepae Maket menu and the iPhone review event
The menu really is varied: thin-sliced pork belly, thin-sliced pork neck, regular pork belly, brisket, duck, beef belly, makchang and more. With a group, you could mix and match a bit of everything. What stood out most was the review event. The 1st prize was an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I honestly thought I'd misread it for a second. I'd never seen an event like that, so it left quite an impression. With a fun event like this, I could see why the place is getting buzz in Daeyeon-dong.

Welcome fish cake soup served first
After you order and wait, the first thing to arrive is the welcome fish cake soup (eomuk-tang), served in a kettle. The broth stays hot, which is perfect for whetting your appetite before the meal. There was a generous amount of fish cake and the broth was refreshing. I imagine that in winter this soup alone would be very satisfying.

How much is the Daepae Maket self-bar and what's on it?
The self-bar is ₩2,000 per adult and has basics like lettuce, perilla leaves and angelica leaves, plus fernbrake and potatoes that are great grilled. The self-bar was one of my favorite parts of Daepae Maket, with a really wide choice of vegetables. Above all it was well kept, everything looked fresh, and side dishes that ran low were refilled right away. That's where the good value comes through.

Can you mix 400g of thin-sliced duck with snowflake makchang?
This time I ordered 400g of domestic thin-sliced duck and thin snowflake makchang. The minimum order is supposedly 500g, but mixing menus is allowed, so you can try several flavors. That's a nice setup for anyone who wants to taste a little of everything.

Thin-sliced duck with grilled bracken and potatoes from the self-bar
The duck is sliced thin, so it cooked quickly on the grill, and grilling the self-bar fernbrake and potatoes alongside it made a surprisingly good combination. The fat level was just right, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy. The fernbrake was nutty, and the potatoes were crispy outside and fluffy inside, which went well with the duck. It was good in a wrap, and just as good picking things up together. I could see a little why people call this a Daeyeon-dong favorite.

What does thin-sliced snowflake makchang taste like?
Thin snowflake makchang is makchang shaved as thin as thin-sliced pork, chewy yet thin, with a texture quite different from regular makchang. The name sounded novel at first, but seeing it in person, it really was like that. Eating it reminded me a little of a makchang dish I once had in Taiwan. It was thin, so it kept going down easily.

Cold noodles and canned peach to finish, plus a review event tip
I finished the meal with mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth). The noodles felt much softer than regular naengmyeon, which was a bit unusual, so people who like a chewy bite might be split on it. Still, the cold broth cleaned my palate after the meat, so it worked fine as a finisher.
For dessert I had canned yellow peach. Sweet peach after meat was a nice palate cleanser. It's not anything special, but it ended the meal on a good note. Peach, cheese or fried rice is free just for doing the review event, so getting it through a review is a handy tip.
A Daeyeon-dong BBQ place that stands out for value and a wide range of meats
Is Daepae Maket Busan Daeyeon Branch worth a return visit?
With eating out so costly these days, this lineup felt like good value. The menu is varied enough that pork belly fans and duck fans can both be happy. The self-bar was kept clean, and being able to take plenty of vegetables was a plus. Small touches like the welcome fish cake soup left an impression, and trying something uncommon like snowflake makchang was fun.
The group seating is big enough for company dinners or family meals, and it's close to Daeyeon Station, so access is good. With parking support, drivers shouldn't feel burdened either. If I go again, I'd like to order pork belly and brisket too. It was a satisfying meal all round, with good price, lineup and atmosphere, so I'd come back on a day I want to enjoy meat without fuss. If you're looking for a Daeyeon-dong spot that covers pork belly, duck and brisket, Daepae Maket is well worth putting on your list.
