Goyang Chinese restaurant with Dad: large jjamjjamyeon, crab fried
In short
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch (짬뽕지존 서오릉점) is a jjamppong-focused Chinese restaurant on Seooreung-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. On a weekend lunch with Dad, the writer ordered a medium glutinous-rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork, ₩24,000), a large original-flavor jjamjjamyeon (half jjamppong, half jjajangmyeon, ₩16,500) and crab fried rice (₩11,000), and the staff added free jjamppong fried mandu. The lines kept forming, but crispy frying, fluffy fried rice, careful hygiene and thoughtful service at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch left father and child both satisfied.

I went on a date with Dad to a jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) place for weekend lunch! Other Jjamppong Jijeon branches had been recommended to me a few times, so I came with high hopes haha
Where is Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch, and what are the hours and parking?
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch (짬뽕지존 서오릉점) is at 424 Seooreung-ro, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi, and it is open every day from 07:00 to 22:00 (last order 21:30), all year round. There is a parking lot outside the restaurant.

The parking lot is nice and roomy, with space for a whopping 30 cars!

And there's a 10% discount for soldiers too!

The menu is written on the door, so you can check it before you go in.
Weekend lunch wait and the atmosphere inside
Maybe because it was a weekend afternoon, the place was packed even though the restaurant is quite big. Group meals are possible too~
A waiting line formed right after we walked in.. Our table was close to the entrance, so we kept hearing staff call out waiting numbers the whole meal.
It's clean and tidy, and the kitchen is open, so there's no need to worry about hygiene 👍 Chinese restaurants have long had a reputation for hygiene problems... but the owner of Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is so serious about cleanliness that he takes pride in running the cleanest Chinese restaurant in the country, so I could eat with peace of mind.
The restroom is also inside the building instead of outside, which is really convenient.

What's in the self-serve bar at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch?
The self-serve bar has onions, cheongyang chili peppers, bean sprouts, zha cai (pickled mustard stem), kimchi and brown rice. It was nice to take only the side dishes you need, as much as you need.

Onions, cheongyang peppers, bean sprouts, zha cai, kimchi! I was surprised that there were even bean sprouts you can add to your jjamppong. Owner, good sense..

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch never reuses side dishes or food! You can also scoop as much brown rice as you want.

Small plates, cute kids' bowls, even hair ties ㅠ This kind of attention to detail really stands out.
There are baby chairs too. It looked good for a family meal out.

There's a dessert corner with coffee, iced tea and more for after the meal 😋 I think I also saw free ice cream.

Pickled radish and zha cai set on the table, plus bottled water.

What Dad and I ordered
Dad and I ordered glutinous-rice tangsuyuk (medium) ₩24,000, jjamjjamyeon (original flavor) large ₩16,500 and crab fried rice ₩11,000. We wanted to try a bit of everything, so: large jjamjjamyeon, fried rice and tangsuyuk!

It didn't take long for a generous spread to arrive. Plus the jjamppong mandu they gave us as a freebie.

Jjamppong Jijeon says its jjamppong is a premium dish seasoned by hand with 100% Korean chili powder. And honestly, it looked premium from the color alone. Insane haha
How was the medium glutinous-rice tangsuyuk?
The glutinous-rice tangsuyuk at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch was fried crispy and the meat was thick. I tried the tangsuyuk first, and judging by how the batter looked, they seem to keep their oil clean too.

The sauce was sweet, sour and so good too

Yum yum with Dad ❤️ The meat was thick and really substantial.
Is the crab fried rice greasy?
The crab fried rice at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch was stir-fried nice and fluffy, which I was happy about. I couldn't decide between shrimp and crab, then went with crab fried rice! The jajang sauce came with big, plentiful chunks 👍
It comes with pineapple too. I don't like eating pineapple with rice, but Dad did... Dad, eat it all...

Sometimes you go to a bad Chinese restaurant and the fried rice is soaked in oil, gloopy and infuriating..^^ But the fried rice here was fluffy and so, so good, so I was satisfied ☺️

Large jjamjjamyeon and the free jjamppong fried mandu
The jajangmyeon in the large jjamjjamyeon looked delicious from its color alone. Mix mix mix~
Can you see the color of that jajang? This place is the real deal ㅠ

The jjamppong fried mandu we got as a freebie! They were fried crispy, just as well as the tangsuyuk.

It really tasted like jjamppong and was delicious!! The juice just kept running out. But maybe because I ordered the jjamppong in the original flavor, the jjamppong mandu was spicier than the jjamppong haha

Taking leftover tangsuyuk home and a small touch at the counter
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch also lets you pack up leftovers. We had tangsuyuk left over, so I asked if they could pack it, and a staff member kindly packed it and brought it to us.
When I went to pay at the counter, there were celebrity autographs! Seeing even that, I thought wow, the attention to detail here is insane. A mirror and even fabric deodorizer haha I've never seen a Chinese restaurant with fabric deodorizer before.

By the time we finished and left, well after lunchtime, the waiting line was all gone. But seeing the line keep filling up while we ate, I thought, wow, it really must be a great restaurant. Dad and I both left very satisfied, so I'm in a great mood 💛
- If you're looking for a good restaurant near Seooreung
- If you want a truly great jjamppong place
- If you're looking for a good restaurant in Goyang
Highly recommend Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch 😋
