Songdo gluten-free bakery: frozen Earl Grey financiers, Tomoru Bakery

In short

Tomoru Bakery is a rice-bread and gluten-free bakery in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, near the Korea Coast Guard headquarters. Six items came home in the takeout bag — kkamang-i (5,800 won), Dubai choco baguette (8,900 won), myeongran salt bread (3,500 won), egg tart (3,200 won), Earl Grey financier (3,200 won) and a levain cookie (4,300 won) — and the Dubai choco baguette now arrives pre-sliced, while the financier tasted even better straight from the freezer. Nothing at Tomoru Bakery is overly sweet or rich; the breads are balanced all the way through.

Hello! Today's post is about my visit to Tomoru Bakery near the Songdo Coast Guard headquarters. There were about 4 tables inside and on the terrace, so it looked like you could sit down and eat your bread right away as a light meal.

Inside Tomoru Bakery

The shop smelled of freshly baked bread — not a huge space, but neatly packed and with a really wide variety .ᐟ

What's on the shelves at Tomoru Bakery Songdo

Dubai choco baguette in sliced packaging

The choco baguette and Dubai choco baguette I'd been most curious about ⑉♥ It looks like the Dubai baguette's packaging changed recently — it now comes sliced, so it was easy to pull out and eat piece by piece. They recommend eating the choco baguette with fresh cream from the fridge section for extra deliciousness.

Beyond that, there were all sorts of cookies and rusks, vanilla madeleines and financiers, baked goods, sliced bread, baguettes, muffins and scones, pastries like mont blanc and croissants, egg tarts and walnut pies, manju and butter tteok (rice cakes), choco sora bread, and fruit cakes, castella cakes, roll cakes and more — a huge range covering both the classics and the trendy breads.

The six breads bought and what they cost

What I ordered at Tomoru Bakery: kkamang-i (₩5,800), Dubai choco baguette (₩8,900), levain cookies (₩4,300), myeongran salt bread (₩3,500), egg tart (₩3,200), Earl Grey financier (₩3,200), and a paper bag (₩100).

Myeongran salt bread (pollock roe salt bread)

I ate the myeongran (pollock roe) salt bread for dinner the day I bought it!! I'd read that Tomoru's plain salt bread is on the mild side, but the myeongran version had a crisp bottom and a clear, definite butter flavor. The salty, savory pollock roe taste was nice too ┈♡゙

Dubai choco baguette, now pre-sliced

A slice of Dubai choco baguette
Dubai choco baguette with pistachio and kadaif

The Dubai baguette I'd been curious about isn't the type with a runny spread, but the pistachio flavor was so nutty and rich that it still tasted intense! The baguette itself is on the soft side, so the texture contrast with the crunchy kadaif was pretty good.

Egg tart and Earl Grey financier, eaten frozen

Earl Grey financier

I love egg tarts, and it's fun comparing how each shop's style differs. Even after a day in the fridge, the pastry was still crisp and delicious. The financier had a subtle Earl Grey aroma, and I personally froze it before eating — it was way tastier that way ꒰˶ - ᵜ -꒱ !!

Kkamang-i, the bestseller

Kkamang-i with walnut coating and cream cheese

Kkamang-i turned out to be even tastier than I expected — there was a reason it's marked as the bestseller. The sweet walnut coating on the outside, plus cream cheese, plus a chewy texture — it's the kind of thing I'd want to buy again.

Is Tomoru Bakery worth the trip?

Overall, I felt that each of Tomoru Bakery's breads was well-balanced, never overpowering! With such a wide variety, it seemed like a fun place to pick and choose from — that's it for today's Tomoru Bakery introduction, thank you for reading.

This post was written after a visit in September 2026. I'd recommend checking the business's latest notices before visiting.
