I had something to do around Magok lately and was looking up what to eat, which is how I ended up here haha. This time, I visited Mikodam Magok-Balsan Branch (미꼬담 마곡발산점)!

We ordered the two-person Korean set near Balsan Station
It felt like a place where you can have a hearty, neatly prepared Korean meal, so I thought it would be nice when you are craving Korean food!! Seriously, if you are looking for somewhere to eat near Balsan Station, it is a good place to look up as a Korean set-meal restaurant. We ordered the two-person Korean set.

The set came with one serving of miyeokguk (seaweed soup), one serving of cockle bibimbap, and one side dish. We chose grilled mackerel for the side, and also ordered soy-marinated crab. I tried the seaweed soup first, and its warm broth felt like it settled my stomach before the meal.

Cockle bibimbap with seasoning to suit your taste
Having a soup alongside Korean food definitely makes the meal nicer. The cockle bibimbap came out too; you just mix the cockles and rice together, so it was easy to adjust the seasoning to my taste. I think anyone who likes cockles would really enjoy this.

A hearty spread with grilled mackerel
And the grilled mackerel we ordered as a side! It goes so well with rice, so I alternated it with the cockle bibimbap. Having a grilled fish dish alongside it made the whole spread feel much more generous. With this combination, it really felt like we were having a proper meal.

Plus the soy-marinated crab we added
I also added soy-marinated crab, which I love. Soy-marinated crab with rice—what more is there to say… I picked out the crab meat to eat with rice and tried it with the soy seasoning too, and as someone who loves Korean food, this combination was just right for me.

Overall, the menu had enough variety that it would be nice for a group to share. Starting warm with seaweed soup, then having the cockle bibimbap with grilled mackerel and soy-marinated crab meant none of the dishes overlapped, which I liked.

If you are looking for a Korean set meal near Balsan Station, I think it would be nice to add dishes to the set like this.

Lately, rather than strongly flavored food, I find myself more drawn to a proper Korean meal with rice and lots of different side dishes. When I want a neat Korean meal around Magok or Balsan Station, I think I will remember Mikodam Magok-Balsan Branch.

Especially if you are looking up Korean set meals near Balsan Station and want to try several dishes, I think the two-person set is worth a look.

Next time, I want to try other dishes too :) Such comforting food... I would happily go back anytime.
I recommend it with 100% personal enthusiasm haha. Personally, rather than eating a lot of just one dish, I liked being able to have small portions of several foods together like this. The cockle bibimbap was filling as a rice dish, while the mackerel was nice and mild alongside it. Adding the soy-marinated crab made it a combination that had me finishing a whole bowl of riceㅠㅠ The crab was really not salty, and that was the key!!
When making plans around Magok or Balsan lately, there are days when I want Korean food instead of Western food or meat, and I think this would be a good Korean set-meal option near Balsan Station. The menu is centered on relatively familiar Korean dishes, so it seems like a nice place to bring your parents for a meal or visit when you want a neat meal. Since we shared several dishes that day, I left feeling pleasantly full and satisfied. If you are looking for a Korean set meal or Korean food near Balsan Station, you might want to keep Mikodam Magok-Balsan Branch in mind :)
