What is Sogogi Twist in Yeongtong, Suwon?

Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch (소고기트위스트 영통구청점) is a new BBQ restaurant near the Yeongtong District Office, and its signature is beef served with dry ice. It was a sweltering weekend T.T It was seriously, seriously hot, so my family went to the newly opened Sogogi Twist for some weekend stamina food, aka beef!! The beef comes out with dry ice like this, so on a blazing summer day you get to enjoy it a little cooler. That's Sogogi Twist~~~~

Where is Sogogi Twist Yeongtong, and where to park

Sogogi Twist is on the first floor of Millennium Plaza, and parking in the building's basement lot is free for up to 2 hours. Even though it's beef, the value is good, and the restaurant proudly calls itself "Suwon's number one BBQ place for value and satisfaction!!" haha

You can have beef here and they also sell pork (pork belly and neck), so it's a good place if you want both beef and pork~~~~~~

Sogogi Twist uses prime-grade beef, so I'd say it nails both value and flavor! You could say the beef is as cheap as pork belly (?) haha. They also sell Australian wagyu, which was a bit pricier~~~~

When we visited, Sogogi Twist was running an opening event giving away 200g of brisket! Who knows when the event ends, lol, so hurry~~~~ hahaha

We booked ahead on Naver Reservation, and they set the table for us in advance~~ Maybe because it's World Cup season, soccer was on the TV lol

What side dishes come with the beef BBQ?

Sogogi Twist sets the table with a wide range of side dishes: kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), pickled perilla leaves, young radish kimchi, pickled onions, wasabi, doenjang (soybean paste), salt, garlic, scallion salad and onion salad (?). Many BBQ places don't give you many sides, so I loved being able to eat with so many~~~

Inside Sogogi Twist Yeongtong: interior and atmosphere

The inside is really clean, as you'd expect from a new BBQ place, and the tissues hanging next to the exhaust vent at every table are cute^^ Ventilation was good too, so the air was fresh even in a BBQ restaurant haha. It's a good spot for both company dinners and family gatherings~~~~~

Sogogi Twist menu and prices

The prime beef platter at Sogogi Twist is flower shrimp cut + chuck flap + jebichuri, ₩54,000 for 500g and ₩88,000 for 1kg. I took photos of the menu~ let's start with the platters haha

• Pork platter (Hanwoo): pork belly + pork neck, 400g ₩38,000 / 800g ₩74,000
• Beef platter (prime, what we ate): flower shrimp cut + chuck flap + jebichuri, 500g ₩54,000 / 1kg ₩88,000
• Special platter (MB9): wagyu ribeye + wagyu flower cut, 500g ₩77,000 / 1kg ₩128,000

You can also order single cuts in 200g portions!

At Sogogi Twist you order on the kiosk at your table. You can see photos of the menu items, which made ordering easy~~~~~~~~~ There's a nice range of side menu items too!!

How were the free brisket and 1kg prime beef platter?

At Sogogi Twist the free event brisket came out first, followed by the beef platter set. The meat has finally arrived!!!!!!! Ta-da! The brisket is such a pretty deep pink-red haha. I grilled the brisket first~~~~

Then came the main event, the beef platter set!!!! Wow hahaha. The biggest piece is the chuck flap, and the cut-up pieces next to it are jebichuri~ The shrimp cut (flower shrimp cut) is my personal favorite~~ it's slightly round, shaped like a shrimp!! haha. 1kg is a really big amount, but my family are big eaters lol, so we finished it all, yum yum hahaha

The beef has such a lovely vivid red color haha, and we enjoyed it so much!! I'd been worn out by the heat lately, and I came home properly re-energized^^

Doenjang sul-bap to finish the beef BBQ

I took a bite of beef on top of onion and fresh kimchi salad~ and the beef also went well with the doenjang sul-bap we ordered~~ There was plenty of beef inside the doenjang sul-bap too!!! haha

Is Sogogi Twist Yeongtong worth it for a family meal?

If you're looking for a beef place near the Yeongtong District Office in Suwon, for a heat-weary family or a company dinner, I recommend Sogogi Twist~~~~ It's tasty and good value, so "number one for value and satisfaction" really feels right!!!! hahaha. I think you'd come for pork belly and end up ordering beef lol
