Goyang café with sausage bread and blueberry croissant: Baedagol

Since it's summer break, I was trying to figure out where to take my two kids and ended up going back to Wondang café Baedagol Bakery House after a while.^^ The weather's just SO hot these days. And the kids get bored being stuck at home together on break lol, so I took them on a drive plus café trip.

Wondang café Baedagol Bakery House is a place we've visited a few times before with the kids, so it's a pretty familiar large Goyang bakery café for our family. They have all kinds of bread, the café itself is spacious, and best of all the garden area outside is really well done, so it's good to bring the kids along. 🌿

Especially since different flowers bloom each season, the vibe changes with spring, summer, fall, winter, so I get curious about what's blooming this time haha. That's why I keep coming back.^^

Why we drove out on summer break: melon bingsu heaped with fresh melon

There was exactly one reason for this visit! Fresh melon bingsu (shaved ice dessert) season!!!🍈🍧

Baedagol Bakery House rotates menu items using seasonal fresh fruit, and this time it was melon! lol Break's here, so it's melon bingsu time with the kids! Gogo❤️

The star of the day was of course the melon bingsu! 🍈 Just visually, it's piled thick with round melon balls, so the kids' eyes lit up the second they saw it lol

The melon itself was really sweet.👍👍👍 Since it was high-sugar melon, it would've been delicious with the shaved ice even without much syrup, but they did give us melon-flavored condensed milk syrup to drizzle on too.

After one bite, the kids went:

Wow, Mom, try it quick, it's really good!

Kids' taste buds are always accurate and honest haha. The melon was sweet, the snow-flake ice was sweet and cool, and with the melon condensed milk added on top, it melts in your mouth haha. Perfect for a cool treat on a hot day.

With fruit bingsu, it's a bit disappointing when the fruit itself isn't tasty, but since the melon was so sweet on its own, I was very satisfied. 🍈💚

Sausage bread, blueberry croissant and the private 2nd-floor seat

Being a proper bakery café, Baedagol Bakery House has a wide variety of breads, each one tasty, so the kids and I browsed around and picked out some bread to share.😁

We went up to the second floor and ate in a separated, private-feeling space haha.

There are lots of these big tables too, but the kids preferred the small room-like space more.^^ Baby chairs are also available, so it's easy to eat comfortably even with a baby along.

This time we had sausage bread, which my second child loves, and blueberry croissant, which my first child loves — both were delicious. 😋 The sausage bread had a chunky sausage on top so the texture was great, and the bread itself had a pastry-like texture, really tasty.

The blueberry croissant had a crispy croissant loaded with whipped cream, plus the sweet flavor of blueberries added on — an impossible-to-mess-up combo lol

Garden through the floor-to-ceiling windows: indoors wins in summer

Enjoying bread and drinks indoors at Baedagol Bakery House is great, but what I personally love is the garden atmosphere around the café. On hot days, the view from inside through the floor-to-ceiling windows is 👍👍👍

The tables are big with lots of space between them, so it's good for gatherings too, and with all the green trees and flowers, it feels different from your typical urban café haha.

Even the bathroom is really pretty❤️haha. On a nice-weather day, it'd be nice to relax in the second-floor outdoor space too~haha (the 2nd-floor outdoor space is a no-kids zone).

Even after visiting Baedagol Bakery House several times, the vibe changes with each season, so it's a great place for a light outing. Especially the melon bingsu and melon drinks — definitely worth trying 🍈

Fan rental and power outlets at Baedagol Bakery House

Fresh melons packed right at the entrance — you can't even tell how fresh they are just by looking! lol

The AC is on full blast so it's cool, but they still offer fan rentals for anyone who's warm — such thoughtfulness!!

Even the little notes on the tables show the owner's thoughtfulness — warmed my heart haha.

Outlets are also available, so it'd be great for working on a laptop or just relaxing! With not much of summer break left, here's a place worth visiting with kids in Goyang!!!
