What is Purity Cafe in Gijang like?
Purity Cafe (퓨리티카페) has long been a well-known brunch spot in Gijang, Busan. It opened in 2015, and I heard it was renovated last year.
The address is 329 Chaseong-ro, Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan. It's open 09:30–22:00, and there's parking too.

The private parking lot at this Gijang brunch café is nice and roomy, so we pulled in and walked right inside without any stress.
Interior and atmosphere at Purity Cafe
The inside is decorated with warm wood-tone furniture, green plants and soft lighting. The moment I opened the door, my first thought was how pretty the interior is. Fresh green potted plants are placed all around, which was so easy on the eyes.
The lighting is soft and warm, so it feels cozy, and especially on the 2nd floor, sunlight pours in through the big windows. It made the warm, sentimental café mood even better!
Is it easy to visit with a baby? 2nd-floor seats and baby chairs
The 2nd floor of Purity Cafe has 4-person and 6-person tables and sofa seats, and baby chairs are available. We have a baby, so we took a seat on the 2nd floor to eat comfortably. The tables are spaced generously, and I loved the soft, comfy sofa seats. And yes, they have baby chairs too!

There's also a separate group seating area at the back, so I thought it would be perfect for a get-together or for friends when you're looking for a brunch place in Gijang. A Gijang brunch café with lots of cute little props to look at: Purity!
Morning bread and salt bread at Purity Cafe
I heard Purity Cafe bakes its bread in-house every morning. We visited on a weekday just after 10 a.m., and even that early a few guests were already enjoying brunch on the 1st floor. And freshly baked breads were just pouring out. +ㅁ+

They bake the bread in the shop every morning, and the whole café was filled with a rich buttery smell, so I was excited before I even took a bite. +ㅁ+

There were lots of sweet-looking cakes, and the trendy salt bread (soft buttery rolls with a salted, crisp bottom) was lined up in many varieties. Purity Cafe in Gijang is said to be a salt bread hotspot, so I picked one up too.

How to order and what's on the menu
Ordering is easy with the tablet kiosk set up at every table. The brunch menu is so varied, with pizza, pasta, sandwiches and more, that choosing is half the fun. There are also lots of lattes, ades and smoothies besides coffee, so it's a great place to come with kids too.

A chef with two Michelin stars in his past? What we ordered
I heard Purity Cafe has a chef who previously worked at a two-Michelin-star restaurant, so I ordered with some expectations. Here's what we ordered that day, with prices.
- Mortadella pizza ₩19,000
- Squid ink risotto ₩18,000
- Grapefruit ade ₩6,500
- Strawberry latte ₩6,000
- Ice cream ₩5,000
- Salt bread ₩2,500
- Financier (small almond butter cake) ₩2,500
They brought the food to our table, and the drinks and food came out almost together, so we could eat right away without waiting! The food looked pretty overall too, which got my hopes up~!

Mortadella pizza: chewy dough to the very end
Purity Cafe's mortadella pizza (₩19,000) has thinly sliced ham on top of basil sauce, and amazingly the dough is so chewy! The crust edge of a pizza is usually hard and you leave it behind, right? But here the dough itself is springy, so I kept reaching for it, never bored, until the last bite. A real pizza place!

Squid ink risotto: a whole squid on top
Purity Cafe's squid ink risotto (₩18,000) comes with a whole squid on top, and the seasoning isn't strong, so it was nice and mild. It had that deep savory seafood flavor, the rice grains were fluffy and separate, and the portion was big too.

Salt bread and financier: how did the baby react?
Purity Cafe's salt bread (₩2,500) was fresh out of the oven, so it was literally crisp outside and moist and chewy inside. The financier (₩2,500) was dense and moist too, a perfect dessert to go with a drink.

Our little man in particular seems to have totally fallen for this crisp-outside, moist-inside salt bread. Haha! He gripped the bread in his tiny hands, kept saying "bbang~~ bbang~~" ("bread~~ bread~~"), and happily ate a whole one by himself.
Soft serve ice cream and drinks
The soft serve ice cream (₩5,000) we ordered for dessert wasn't artificially sweet; the milk flavor was really rich and nutty. They gave a generous amount, so it was a nice clean finish.

The grapefruit ade (₩6,500) had refreshing fizz that cleaned up my mouth nicely alongside the brunch dishes, and the strawberry latte (₩6,000) tasted fresh, with sweet strawberry pulp you could actually chew, so it was just right for the baby. I totally recommend the strawberry latte at Purity Cafe!

Brunch in Gijang with a baby: overall verdict on Purity Cafe
Calm music played the whole time, which added to the relaxed feel of the space, and the staff were friendly, so we stayed comfortably. It was a lovely morning, enjoying food that was gentle and made with care for the first time in a while.
If you're looking for a Gijang café that's good with kids and want a relaxed brunch, I'll quietly recommend Purity Cafe, a Gijang brunch spot with a varied, tasty menu~! Thanks for the meal today!
