These days I'm into raw fish and I've been eating my way around town, haha. This time I'm sharing a review of an actual assorted-sushi restaurant, not a conveyor-belt place — long time since I've been to one of these 🧚🏻

What the dining room at Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam looks like
It's on the 2nd floor of a building in Sodam-dong, Sejong, with underground parking, and being near the BRT line made it very accessible!
With the clean interior, at first I thought it was a brunch or Western food place, haha 🙊 The dining room is spacious enough for group bookings, and it seemed like a great spot for families too 🩵

The menu at Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam Main Branch branches out from set menus to à la carte sushi to side dishes. When I first looked at it, there were so many options I had a hard time deciding, haha 🙊
From set menus to à la carte sushi to sides, there was so much variety it was actually fun to pick.
Soy sauce and ginger were already on every table, so it was easy to help ourselves.

There were three of us. We ordered the 26-piece Family Sushi, the 12-piece Recommended Sushi, and the raw salmon rice bowl. There was a kiosk at every table so ordering was easy, and the food came out quickly once we ordered.
26-piece Family Sushi at Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam
The Family Sushi 26p was the first thing that caught my eye — it came out neatly arranged on a large platter. The colorful arrangement was a treat for both eyes and mouth. From chewy white fish to melt-in-your-mouth salmon, sweet egg sushi, to savory soy-marinated shrimp!
It was a well-rounded set that pretty much anyone would like, and it was genuinely fun picking through it with my friends. The vinegared rice wasn't too salty or loose, just right, and above all the fish wasn't dried out — it was moist and fresh, getting sweeter the more you chewed 😎
12-piece Recommended Sushi at Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam
Paired alongside was the Recommended Sushi (12p), a menu that shows off the chef's sense and that day's freshness. It had a different charm from the Family Sushi, with more live-fish sashimi-style pieces. It felt like it elevated the whole meal's quality.

When you pick a sushi set, it comes with a mini salad plus your choice of cold soba or mini udon. The crunchy mini salad went really well alongside the sushi.
The sushi-plus-noodle combo was especially great 🧚🏻
Raw salmon rice bowl (donburi) at Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam
The raw salmon rice bowl had that fresh, savory, rich flavor unique to raw salmon filling the whole mouth, and adding a bit of fresh wasabi cut through the richness while doubling down on the savoriness. The texture of the salmon was excellent too 🍣
The salmon itself was such good quality there was zero fishy taste — just clean, clean, clean.
Verdict: set or sushi by the piece at Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam?
We tried two kinds of sets, and I felt like the sets have a lot of egg, fried tofu, and shrimp sushi, so à la carte might be better. If you're someone who especially loves live-fish sashimi-style sushi, the sets might be a bit disappointing ㅠㅠ
But for a family or group meal, the variety in the sets is great!
You can also order sashimi here besides sushi. Next time I'll have to come back for the sashimi!
