On rainy days or when driving at night, my windshield visibility was uncomfortable, so I tried AutoGrooming Car Glass Oil Film Remover. I cleaned the front and rear windows of my car, then used it on the shower screen in my bathroom at home, too.
What was the glass like before cleaning?
It was especially difficult to get a clear view through the windshield on rainy days.
Even after running the wipers, a hazy film remained, and sunlight or streetlights looked smeared. I wash my car fairly often, but the oily film on the glass never seemed to come off easily.
It may look clean in the photos, but in person there were the telltale smudges and haze of an oily film. In my case, even premium wipers did not solve it.
How did I use it at the car wash?
Once I arrived at the car wash, I started cleaning the car windows. AutoGrooming is introduced as a product for removing oily film, wiper marks, water spots, and similar grime from car glass.
What I found convenient was that I could rub it in gently with a towel. It did not take much force, so the process did not feel burdensome.
Following the directions, I first lightly washed the glass with water. I put an appropriate amount of the product on a towel, spread it evenly over the glass, then rubbed gently about five times.
As I rubbed, I could feel the glass surface gradually becoming smoother under my fingertips.
I worked carefully over the windshield first, applying it again with extra attention to the areas with oily film.
I had only planned to clean the windshield, but I spotted oily film on the rear window too, so I applied it there as well.
After applying it all over, I sprayed plenty of water to rinse it off, then finished by wiping the glass with a dry towel.
What changed after cleaning the glass?
The first change I noticed after finishing was that the glass looked much clearer and more transparent.
In my car, glare was reduced, and I could barely notice any lingering wiper marks when I ran the wipers. When I sprayed water on the glass, it ran cleanly off without that feeling of a film being left behind, which I was happy with.
Especially while driving at night, I felt that the smearing from streetlights and oncoming headlights was less noticeable, making the view more comfortable.
How was it on the bathroom shower screen?
I also tried it directly on the glass shower screen in my bathroom at home. The glass, which had always looked cloudy from a combination of water spots and oily film, became much cleaner. I liked that I could also use at home the product I had used to clean my car windows.
