Gwangalli sashimi spot with crispy pajeon and crab stew: Gwanganda
In short
Gwanganda Jjji Gwangalli Main Branch is a sashimi restaurant serving dachi sets (multi-course seafood tables) on the 6th floor of Sanbada Hoetown in Gwangalli, Suyeong, Busan. On a return visit, the dachi set came as a full course: crispy pajeon (Korean scallion pancake) among the side dishes, sea squirt, shrimp and sea hare, a mixed sashimi platter of flounder, red seabream, sea bass and flatfish, then abalone porridge and blue crab stew to finish. With a private 1st-floor parking lot for about 6 cars, high chairs and rooms for groups of 5 or more, Gwanganda Jjji is an easy choice for a family meal in Gwangalli.

You can use the building's own 1st-floor parking lot
There was room for about 6 cars. This time I got lucky and parked right in the building's own lot on the way up. Parking is a real headache in Gwangalli most of the time, so having a dedicated lot turns out to be a bigger perk than I expected! If it's full, there's the Subyeon Park public lot right next door (1 minute walk) or the Subyeon Children's Park public lot (3 minute walk)! Places with easy parking for a meal in Gwangalli are surprisingly hard to find, so this alone is a huge plus!

The atmosphere and seating on the 6th floor
Riding the elevator up to the 6th floor, the familiar Gwanganda Jjji sign came into view. So excited... haha.

The restaurant was still kept spotless, and the view was fantastic. The tables are spaced generously too! There are also separate rooms, so it works fine for family meals or group get-togethers.

The staff greeted us cheerfully and responded quickly whenever we needed anything. That kind of friendliness is one of the reasons I keep coming back!!

Book by headcount for the dachi set; rooms for 5 or more
At Gwanganda Jjji, you reserve according to the number of people for the dachi set (a full seafood table course). Rooms are also available for parties of 5 or more, so it seems ideal for family gatherings or group meetups.

High chairs are ready too, so it's a Gwangalli sashimi restaurant you can visit with kids without any worry.

The scallion pancake and seafood served as banchan
The scallion pancake that came out midway was genuinely delicious!!! The outside was golden and crispy, and rather than being greasy, it had a light, nutty flavor that would go really well with makgeolli or soju!!!! For something served as a mere banchan, the quality was so good it was even more satisfying.

As always, the biggest strength of this place is the banchan. Even before the sashimi arrives, various seafood dishes start coming out one after another, and before you know it the table is completely full. It's not just about quantity — every single dish tastes great... it's true... no wonder this place has a reputation as a banchan spot.

Good food is still good the second time around
The sea squirt, shrimp, and sea hare were all very fresh. No fishy smell at all, and the more you chewed, the more the ocean flavor came through.

I'm generally particular about freshness since I love seafood, and once again it didn't disappoint. I can see why so many people keep coming back to this Gwangalli sashimi restaurant.

The main sashimi platter: flounder, red seabream, sea bass, and flatfish
The main sashimi platter exceeded expectations too. It was made up of various seasonal fish — flounder, red seabream, sea bass, and flatfish — cut into thick slices with great texture. The more you chewed, the nuttier it tasted, and the aging was just right, so I enjoyed it down to the last piece.

If you want to properly enjoy fresh sashimi, this is a Gwangalli sashimi restaurant that will fully satisfy.

The finish: abalone porridge and blue crab stew
The abalone porridge that came to close out the meal was really good too. Even though I was already quite full, I couldn't put the spoon down... haha. The rich, nutty flavor of the abalone really came through, and it sat comfortably in my stomach, making for a satisfying meal right to the end.

The blue crab stew's broth was seriously amazing..!!!!! The deep flavor of the seafood was fully drawn out, so I kept reaching for it, and it paired really well with the abalone porridge.

This isn't a place you visit just once — it's a Gwangalli sashimi restaurant with clear reasons to come back whenever it crosses your mind. It's not just the sashimi that's good; every single banchan felt thoughtfully made, and the variety was so wide that I never got tired of it, all the way through.
Friendly staff, a spotless space, convenient parking, fresh sashimi, and a generous spread of banchan.. If you want to properly enjoy sashimi in Gwangalli, or you're looking for a Gwangalli sashimi restaurant with a hearty banchan spread, Gwanganda Jjji was more than satisfying. It was just as delicious on this revisit, and it'll likely be the first place that comes to mind next time I'm craving sashimi!!!
