After dinner, the writer and her husband stopped at Chat Baker for an Americano made with nutty beans and a coconut fresh mango bingsu (shaved ice), then took a loaf of white bread home. What is Chat Baker, the date-night café near Anseong Farmland?
Chat Baker (챗 베이커) is a large brunch and bakery café in Gongdo, Anseong, well known as a café near Anseong Farmland. After a lovely dinner with my husband, we were wondering where to go next and stumbled on Chat Baker. We had heard it was a big café, and from the moment we walked in, I loved how spacious and atmospheric it felt.

It is a short drive from Anseong Farmland, so it works nicely as part of a date, and the roomy space makes it easy to take your time. The interior has that trendy, young-generation (MZ) feel, with lots of photogenic corners, so I naturally found myself pulling out my camera.
Chat Baker is a 500-pyeong (about 1,650 m²) bakery café in Gongdo, Anseong. The seats are spaced far apart and the light is good, so even after a long stay it never felt stuffy. It suits a solo visit just as well as a relaxed time with friends or a partner.
It was a really good place to sit and chat with my husband. The wide interior and cozy mood let us enjoy a quiet date, and the view out the window made it even more healing.

What is on the Chat Baker brunch menu?
Chat Baker also runs a varied brunch menu, so you can have a meal and café time in one stop. There are meals like truffle mushroom cream risotto, pollock roe and shrimp oil pasta, tomato seafood pasta and basil cream gnocchi, and I thought I would like to try brunch next time too.

Chat Baker breads and cakes
Inside, the bakery cases were full of different breads, and I spent ages deciding what to eat. The most famous item is the salt bread, but we were busy with bingsu that day, so I didn't get to try any bread there.

There were so many kinds of bread that it was really, really hard to choose!! Everything looked so delicious.

The cake selection was big too, and every one of them looked delicious.
- Fresh mango whipped cream cake
- Double cheese cake
- Mocha chocolate cake
- Vanilla milk cake
There were lots of ciabatta varieties as well, like cheese, olive and salt, so there seemed to be plenty of flavors to pick from.

When we visited, Chat Baker was running an event giving out salt bread for joining a review event, and plenty of people were taking part. With so many freshly baked breads on display every day, I think bread lovers will be very happy here.

Chat Baker 2nd-floor seating and LP décor
The 2nd floor has plenty of open seating too, as you'd expect from a big café, and LP records are stylishly displayed, which is fun to look at. If you are looking for a nice date spot in Anseong or a café near Anseong Farmland, Chat Baker is more than satisfying.
Bread can be warmed up in an oven.

Chat Baker nutty Americano and white bread loaf
The Americano and the loaf of bread came out first!! Enjoying them with that great view was so nice. I decided to eat the bread properly at home and waited for the bingsu.
I ordered the Chat Baker Americano with the nutty-roast beans, and maybe because of that it was just so nutty and good.

How does Chat Baker's coconut fresh mango bingsu taste?
We ordered the coconut fresh mango bingsu at Chat Baker, and it was the most satisfying menu item of this visit.

Sweet fresh mango, soft milk ice and nutty coconut went together perfectly, and with the first bite I forgot all about the hot weather. It was that cool and delicious.

With its tasty coconut mango bingsu, wide range of bakery items and spacious, atmospheric space, this big café stuck with me as a place I'd want to visit again next time I'm in Anseong.

If you like mango, I really hope you'll try this one.

There was even more mango hidden inside the mango bingsu!!! You could truly call it a giant mango bingsu.
Live jazz at Chat Baker and the take-home bread
I hear Chat Baker also has live jazz performances, so it would be nice to time a visit for that!
I ate the Chat Baker bread when I got home... wow, so so so good!!
