In short
Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch is a cabin-themed Korean pub on the 2nd floor of the Seongbo Building near Beomgye Station in Anyang, Gyeonggi. The writer toured the spacious hall and indoor smoking room, then ordered the best-selling boiled pork jowl (hangjeong suyuk) with bossam kimchi (26,000 won) and spicy fire-grilled squid (23,000 won), and was pleased with the firm pork and the plump, smoky squid. How is the pork jowl suyuk & bossam kimchi?
I ordered the Best menu item at Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch first: the pork jowl suyuk (boiled pork) & bossam kimchi (₩26,000). It is bar suyuk and bossam kimchi, but just look at it.. haha. It looks so delicious. It even comes with myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic-chive leaves).

Even the ssamjang (dipping paste) is not just plain. It is loaded with sesame oil.

I put ssamjang on the myeongi namul and took a bite... the meat is not mushy like at a bossam restaurant, it is nicely firm, and it tastes like homemade suyuk, which made it even better.

I also tried it with the geotjeori (fresh kimchi). The geotjeori is moderately spicy and salty, and the cabbage tastes fresh, so it goes really well with the pork jowl suyuk.

It was my first time having pork jowl suyuk, and the ratio of fat to lean meat is fantastic.

Extra myeongi namul, sliced chili and garlic can be added, so no worries, eat them freely with the delicious pork jowl suyuk.

How is the spicy fire-grilled squid?
The spicy fire-grilled squid (₩23,000) at Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch is loaded with real squid and comes with mayonnaise and potato salad. After the pork jowl suyuk I craved something spicy, so I ordered it, and wow!! What a sight. After the suyuk, even the grilled squid comes out looking like it is from a specialty restaurant.

Most restaurants these days use giant squid, but this is the real deal!! Packed with actual squid.

The mayonnaise and potato salad served alongside look like they will pair perfectly.

The squid comes in big pieces, so cut it into bites with the scissors and tongs. I dipped it in the mayo!! The first taste hits with smoky fire-grilled flavor, then a pleasant spiciness kicks in after the sweetness. So good.

Doesn't it look like grilled squid sold somewhere by the seaside? haha

Is this amount and thickness of squid for real? With squid this good, it can't help but taste great.

The mayo and potato salad go so well with the grilled squid that I lost count of how many refills I had. Mayonnaise and potato salad are refillable, so dig in. haha

With a sauce this tasty, even the vegetables grilled alongside were delicious.

Who is Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch recommended for?
If you are looking for a bar with great drinking food and no seating worries in Beomgye, from small gatherings to large groups needing group seating, I highly recommend "Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch"!!
