Goseong café with Ulsanbawi views: Bellemons Cafe

On a late-summer vacation in Goseong, I was looking for a café where we could quietly take a break. Goseong has plenty of cafés with ocean views, but this time I wanted a slightly different mood. Rather than a busy ocean-view café, I wanted to relax while looking at the mountains~ That’s how I ended up at Bellemons Cafe in Goseong.

Bellemons Cafe in Goseong: location and travel tips

It is located at 22-23 Punggok 2-gil, Toseong-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gangwon State, and the café is on the second floor. We drove on this trip, and with hardly any shops or buildings nearby, the area already felt very peaceful before we arrived.

It is much more convenient to come by car than by public transit. It is somewhere you make a point of visiting during a Goseong trip, so it would fit nicely into an itinerary if you are driving.

Ulsanbawi views through floor-to-ceiling windows

The thing I liked most as soon as we went up to the second floor was the floor-to-ceiling windows. The view outside came into sight all at once, and the glass was so clean that sitting by the window felt almost like being outdoors.

The biggest reason I chose this place was that I could keep looking at Ulsanbawi from my seat without even having to go out onto the terrace.

I did step out onto the terrace too, where there was an open view toward Seoraksan. Personally, I recommend checking the window seats as soon as you walk in. You can enjoy more than enough of the mountain scenery through the floor-to-ceiling windows without having to go all the way out to the terrace, haha.

Sweet corn honey cake and whipped-cream chewy bread

I came here thinking only about the view, but it turns out Bellemons is also known in Goseong for its desserts.

The dessert display had quite a variety. There were carrot cake and tiramisu, along with sweet corn honey cake, honey chestnut cake, chocolate crunch cake, and more.

We chose the sweet corn honey cake and whipped-cream chewy bread.

The sweet corn honey cake was pretty even in photos, topped with honeycomb-shaped chocolate. Once I tried it, the corn flavor and honey sweetness came through clearly, and it was delicious.

The whipped-cream chewy bread was soft and fluffy, and I liked that the cream was not too rich. Since there are so many menu options, one tip is not to arrive too late if there is a particular dessert you want.

Nutty cream latte and omija ade

We ordered a nutty cream latte and an omija ade.

The nutty cream latte was topped with cream in the style of an Einspänner, with rich coffee and cream to enjoy together. It was one of the best coffees I have had lately, so I saved it as a go-to coffee spot. Haha.

The omija ade, made with five-flavor berry, was refreshing with a slight pleasant bitterness, but overall it was not overpowering.

With drinks and desserts ordered, we could sit by the window and take in the scenery at a leisurely pace even from inside the café. The weather was lovely, so it was nice to step out onto the terrace midway and enjoy the outdoor view too.

Bellemons Cafe drink and dessert prices

Drinks are ₩5,000 for an Americano, ₩6,000 for a caffè latte, ₩8,000 for a nutty cream latte, ₩9,000 for a cream berry latte, and about ₩7,000 for ade drinks. There are many desserts as well, generally priced around ₩8,000–₩9,000.

A café for a long break between Goseong and Sokcho

We had our drinks and desserts by the window, and because the glass was so clean, the scenery felt as close as if we were sitting on the terrace!!

If you are looking for things to do in Goseong and want a quiet atmosphere that is a little different from an ocean-view café, Bellemons Cafe, known for its Ulsanbawi view, should be a good fit. It is especially easy to combine with nearby sights on a driving itinerary because it sits between Goseong and Sokcho~

I would recommend it to anyone who, like me, wants to linger in a café and enjoy the view too. It was lovely in summer, but personally, I was even more excited to imagine what the scenery would be like if I came back in a snowy winter.
