Hi, this is Hyunjoy~ ^_^ La Cuesta Gwangju has a big building, so I could feel the scale of the place the moment I arrived~! The parking area was spacious too, so it was easy to visit by car haha. If you're looking for a large Gonjiam café in Gwangju, Gyeonggi to stop at during a drive, this one has the right vibe~~

The address is 278 Gyeongchung-daero, Gonjiam-eup, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do! Hours are 10 AM to 10 PM daily, so it was easy to visit whenever~ Parking is available in front of the building, and since it's a large café run across two floors, there's plenty of room to choose a seat hahaha.

First-floor bakery displays and second-floor seating at La Cuesta

The 1st floor has the bakery display and order counter together, so there was a lot to look at right as I walked in haha. Thanks to the wall of windows, the whole space felt bright and airy~~! The seats weren't cramped either, so it was nice for picking out bread and relaxing slowly!

Going up to the 2nd floor, there were even more seats, giving off a truly relaxed vibe~ If you sit by the window, you get a view outside too, so it seemed good for staying a while >.< The space itself is wide, so it looked comfortable for families or groups haha.

Chuseok gift sets and cookie-making kits

On one side, they had gift sets specially put together for Chuseok (Korean harvest festival)~~! They arranged the baked goods and cookies nicely for gift-giving, so it really felt like the holiday season haha. If you're looking for an edible gift instead of something ordinary, this seemed worth browsing!

There was also a separate cookie-making set that caught my eye haha. Instead of just selling finished desserts, it's fun that they also have a kit you can make yourself~! It looked good for doing with kids or enjoying casually at home~

What bread La Cuesta bakes and the free injeolmi roll tasting

Looking at the bakery display, there were so many kinds of bread that I spent ages deciding what to pick!! From rice bread to salt bread, croissant-type breads, and rolls, there was plenty to choose from depending on taste~~ True to a large Gonjiam café in Gwangju, it wasn't just one or two kinds of dessert — browsing the bakery itself was fun haha.

On one side, there was also a free tasting corner for the new injeolmi roll~! With a menu item I'd never seen before, it's hard to just pick blindly, so it was nice being able to try it and decide haha. Good news too for anyone curious about the nutty, savory taste of injeolmi (sweet rice cake coated in roasted bean powder)!!

I picked the La Cuesta latte, rice castella, mocha roll, and oatmeal cookie~~ Filled up the table with sweets~!

La Cuesta latte, switched to decaf

The signature La Cuesta latte had a thick layer of cream on top, so the look alone was on point!! Even switched to decaf, the coffee taste wasn't too light and blended in smoothly~ The sweet cream added to it made it nice to drink alongside the baked goods haha.

The cream on top felt chewier than it looked, so it was definitely the highlight of the latte~~! At first I tasted the cream and coffee separately, but mixing them together naturally made it much smoother haha. If I had to pick one signature drink at this large Gonjiam café in Gwangju, this is the one that stuck with me!

Mocha roll, 7,500 won

The mocha roll had a subtle coffee aroma spreading through the sweetness, so it paired well with the latte~ The bread was soft and the cream generous, so each bite felt moist and nice haha. It seems like a good fit when you're craving soft bread rather than something too heavy~~!

Looking at the cross-section, the mocha cream was rolled in nicely, so it looked appetizing too! Rather than the cream standing out too strongly, it went down smoothly together with the bread, so it wasn't overwhelming >.< The coffee aroma lingered subtly, so it was good for eating slowly, one slice at a time~

Rice castella, 6,800 won

The rice castella had a fluffy texture that came through nicely as you ate it hahaha. It melts moist in your mouth, so it went really well paired with the latte~~ If you want to pick something light and plain at this large Gonjiam café in Gwangju, this is an easy choice!

Oatmeal cookie, 7,500 won

The oatmeal cookie was big, so it had presence all on its own~! The more you chew, the more the nutty flavor comes through, and the texture is different from the roll or castella, so I was glad I picked it too haha. Alternating between the different desserts meant I never got tired of them, even to the last bite~~

Why La Cuesta works as a drive stop in Gonjiam

True to a large Gonjiam café in Gwangju, the space was spacious with a wide range of baked goods, so browsing itself was fun! From the signature latte to the mocha roll and rice castella, it was nice to enjoy several desserts together haha.
