Sangsu ramen restaurant in Seoul: spicy chashu ramen at Ramen Truck
In short
Ramen Truck Sangsu Main Branch is a Japanese ramen restaurant near Sangsu Station in Mapo, Seoul. I had spicy chashu ramen, rice, and yaki gyoza at 3 p.m. with no break time, and the rich spicy broth, four slices of chashu, and especially the crisp dumplings stayed with me. Verdict: go when you want spicy ramen with rice mixed right into the broth.

You know I’m seriously into ramen, right? ㅠㅠ So this was a Hongdae ramen spot I’d really wanted to try!! Since I was already in Hongdae, I stopped byyy.

A little preview ,, that visual though ㄷㄷ 🤤
Ramen Truck Sangsu Main Branch, close to Sangsu Station
Ramen Truck Sangsu Main Branch (라멘트럭 상수본점) is seriously close to Sangsu Station! It’s about 50 m from Exit 4. The best 👍

There’s a menu board out front, plus parking information!!

This is the vibe inside.

As you’d expect from a ramen shop, there are several bar seats. There was also a table for four so you can eat together with a group!!
I went a little after 3? Having no break time is one of the biggest perks ㅠㅠ And even at this awkward hour, customers kept coming in!! Perfect for lunch after hanging around the Hongdae area!!

A ramen menu with spicy versions, too
The menu kindly explains every single topping, one by one ㅠㅠ 💗

- Event menu: seafood tonkotsu ramen (mega), iekei ramen (mega, spicy, spicy mega)
- Original menu: ramen, spicy ramen, extra-spicy ramen, chashu don (rice bowl), chashu ramen (spicy chashu ramen, extra-spicy chashu ramen), special ramen (special spicy ramen, special extra-spicy ramen)
- Sides: karaage, yaki gyoza, mini chashu don, steamed rice
There are so many menu items!! I loved that every ramen I wanted had a spicy version ,.

Mr. Lim Young-woong stopped by here, too ,,

Up front, there are explanations of the broth, noodles, chashu, and eggs. They make their own noodles here!!

Each seat has kimchi and yuja danmuji (citron pickled radish)!! Yuja danmuji is the best kind of danmuji, in my opinion. I ordered Sprite, and they gave me an ice cup~~ I loved it.

Such cute decorations ,, and I liked being able to see everything because it’s an open kitchen!!

Ordering spicy chashu ramen and yaki gyoza
Here it is!! ❤️❤️❤️
- Spicy chashu ramen (free minced garlic)
- Steamed rice
- Yaki gyoza
- Sprite
That’s what I ordered!!

There were so many choices that I wondered what to get, but I was craving something spicy, so spicy ramen it was!! And I chose the chashu ramen, which comes with four slices of chashu 🤤

Doesn’t it look wonderfully spicy just from the color?? ㅠㅠ

The color is so deep, and there’s a really generous amount too.. 💗 The noodles seemed like the standard ramen thickness!! Maybe because I added garlic, but it tasted wonderfully thick and rich..

Yaki gyoza is a must here
The yaki gyoza ,, if you come here, really, absolutely.. you need to get the yaki gyoza, everyone. Their gyoza is honestly way tastier than anywhere else,, maybe because of that crispy part,, seriously so good 👍

The yaki gyoza was so good that I took this many photos of it..

You know to eat the chashu with the rice and noodles together, right ,,

Finished every last noodle! I mixed the rice into the broth and ate every bit too ㅠㅠㅠ I was so full, but it was too delicious to put my spoon down.. 😭 The spicy ramen line is even hotter than Shin Ramyun, so it’s totally intense and such a perfect match with rice!!
