I wanted to tidy up my dry ends and color while keeping my hair length, so I went to Vivienne Hair, Changwon Sangnam branch (비비엔느헤어 창원상남점). After reserving with a designer, I visited on a weekday afternoon for a trim and an all-over ash brown color.

Where is the salon, and is parking available?

The salon is on the second floor at 23 Danjeong-ro in central Sangnam-dong. The original post lists its hours as 10:00–21:00; it is closed on the day of major holidays and New Year's Day. Pets are welcome, too.

Parking is always something I think about when going to Sangnam-dong, so I liked that I could use Real Parking Lot. If you are visiting by car, it would be helpful to check the parking lot's location in advance.

Was the space comfortable during the cut and color?

When I entered, the salon felt clean and bright overall. At the time of my visit, there was also a notice about a 20% discount for first-time visitors.

A color appointment means staying for a while, but there was a good amount of space between the service stations, so it did not feel cramped. I could relax while having my hair done.

The waiting area was spacious, and the view of Sangnam-dong through the floor-to-ceiling windows felt open. It had a relaxed atmosphere during my weekday afternoon visit.

The chair at my station was comfortable, too.

How did I discuss keeping my length?

During the consultation, I first showed them my damaged ends. The lower part was dry and made my hair look untidy overall, but I did not want to lose a lot of length by cutting off all the damaged sections.

We decided to cut only about a finger-joint length from the ends. I chose ash brown and discussed my desired tone while they checked my existing hair color and the condition of the damage. I wanted a brown that would feel easy to wear every day but give a different mood from my existing hair.

Did trimming only the damaged ends make a difference?

Before the service, my hair color was yellowish and the ends were quite damaged. I arrived without washing my hair that day, and the appointment began with the cut.

Because I am growing my hair out, even trimming a little felt like a shame, but once the ends were tidied, the line at the bottom looked clean. Even without cutting much, my hair looked neater overall, and I could notice the difference at the ends before the color.

How did the ash brown color process go?

Before the color began, they gave me refreshments. I chose iced tea, and they also gave me plenty of snacks.

After putting on ear-protection caps, we began the all-over ash brown color. They applied the dye, checked as the color developed, and then shampooed and dried my hair.

The acupressure massage during the shampoo was especially memorable. It felt refreshing, and I was pleased with it.

What changed after the cut and color?

After the blow-dry, my hair had a calmer feel than its previous yellowish color. Changing it to ash brown after tidying the ends made it look clean overall.

I was more satisfied with tidying the damaged ends first than I would have been with changing only the color. Comparing before the service, after the cut, and after the color in sequence made it easy to see how the ends and color had changed.

After the appointment, they also gave me shampoo for caring for color-treated hair. This was the service I had wanted: tidying both the damaged ends and color without greatly reducing my length.
