What time does Gang Galbitang open for breakfast in Seomyeon?

Gang Galbitang Seomyeon opens every day at 9:20 a.m., which makes it a great galbitang spot when you want breakfast in Seomyeon. I didn't feel like cooking on a weekend morning, and I had a hangover from a friend's wedding after-party the night before, so off I went to Gang Galbitang in Seomyeon~~ I think it's perfect for anyone looking for a breakfast place in Seomyeon!

How do you order at Gang Galbitang?

You order at the kiosk, but if you're paying cash or the kiosk is hard to use, you can order directly with the staff! We ordered the galbitang and the spicy galbitang. And we added medium noodles to the galbitang!

It opens at 9:20 and we arrived at 9:30, and I thought I'd misread the time! The place was already full. I realized this really is a famous breakfast spot in Seomyeon!

For the spicy galbitang, you can choose the spice level! I went with level 1! If you don't choose, it automatically becomes level 1. You can also add medium noodles or extra meat, and the glass noodles come in a double portion too!

If you join the review event, they give you a hand cream as a gift! I think it's a great event for foreign visitors! Of course it's a useful gift for Koreans too!

Self-serve bar and solo dining seats

Gang Galbitang gives you basic side dishes, and for more you can use the self-serve bar!

It looks like you can also get coffee from the self-serve bar! I don't drink coffee, so I skipped it~

Gang Galbitang Seomyeon also has a bar-style counter table and single seats along the wall, so if you're looking for a place to eat alone in Seomyeon, you can drop by comfortably!

Is the food slow on weekend mornings?

That day the place was full of delivery orders and dine-in customers from the morning, so the food took a little while, though the customers after us got theirs quickly! When orders pile up, it may take a bit longer~

How were the spicy galbitang, the galbitang and the ribs?

Spicy galbitang on the left, galbitang with extra medium noodles on the right! The spicy one looks spicy just from the color! The rib bones are really big too! And since they're cooked until soft, the meat comes off easily!

The ribs are big, so the meat was ridiculously big too! Not tough at all, really tender, so I think everyone from kids to grandparents can enjoy it!

There were about 3 to 4 rib bones in the bowl!

Are the extra medium noodles worth adding?

They say the medium noodles at Gang Galbitang are shipped directly from Jeju Island! Apparently they're the medium noodles used in Jeju-style pork noodle soup! They aren't regular thin somyeon noodles, and being medium-thick, they went really well with the meat broth!

Even if you don't add the medium noodles, glass noodles are already in the bowl by default~

The meat was so tender that it was really easy to eat! At places where the galbitang meat is tough, it gets stuck in your teeth and is so annoying, but the meat here is really soft! Dipped in the sauce that comes with it, it's heavenly!

A side dish I'd never seen: pickled chorogi

It came as a side dish and I'd never seen anything like it, so I wondered what it was, and it turned out to be jangajji (soy-pickled vegetables) made from chorogi (Chinese artichoke)! I searched it up and apparently it has lots of health benefits! They say it's good for you, so I ate plenty haha The taste goes well with the galbitang and the texture is really appealing!

Stealing meat from the plain galbitang~ Clean and mild, the textbook galbitang! They must use really good meat, because it isn't tough at all, truly! And it's so tasty I think I could eat it every day without getting tired of it><

I filmed a video to show how well-cooked it is, and the rib bone and the meat separate very easily! Meat that isn't cooked well doesn't separate nicely~ Look at the amount of meat inside! When a foreign friend visits Korea, I'm taking them to Gang Galbitang for breakfast! I bet they'd love it!

Where do you park for Gang Galbitang Seomyeon?

Parking support at Gang Galbitang Seomyeon only works at the Blue parking lot, so be sure to park there~ When you finish eating, pick up a parking discount ticket on your way out! They support one car per table, and 30 minutes when two or more people eat! Make sure to get that parking ticket~

The Blue parking lot has plenty of spaces! It's bigger than it looks in the photo, with lots of spots~ No parking worries at Gang Galbitang! The staff were also really kind, and the restaurant is tidy and you could tell they care about cleanliness! A hygienic place is the best! (As for the taste of the galbitang, need I say more? It's really delicious!)
