Overall, Yuok has that calm atmosphere you get in a proper Japanese restaurant.

The first thing you see when you walk in is the Japanese-style counter, or dachi!

The lighting is soft and the space feels warm, so it was easy to eat at a relaxed pace rather than in a noisy, busy restaurant.

The place is clean and they have baby chairs ready, so I'd recommend it for family visits too!

It was great for sitting with my husband, chatting slowly over dinner, and setting a weekend evening date mood.

Being a proper Japanese restaurant, they had all sorts of Japanese-style dishes ready. The whole set-course concept looked great for getting into the mood before eating.

My husband picked the eel rice bowl and I picked the salmon rice bowl. We both wanted to try both, so we ordered one of each and shared.

The food came out without much delay! Each set arrived generously plated, and it photographed beautifully too.

First up, my husband's eel rice bowl! Big, plump eel piled generously on top of the rice — you could tell at a glance.

The neatly arranged side dishes that came with it — sauce, wasabi, fried tofu, and salad!

Under the thick eel there was a plump rolled egg omelet too, and under that, seasoned rice! Enough to fill up even an adult man.

Following the way the friendly staff explained, we cut the eel into bite-sized pieces and scooped up big bites with the egg and rice together!

The chewy eel, the moist rolled egg, and the fluffy rice all came together really well texture-wise, and the seasoning hit that sweet-savory balance just right — the kind of flavor that keeps your chopsticks moving.

My husband especially loved it, which made me feel so proud for choosing this place! Overall the food wasn't too heavy, so I'd love to come back with my parents next time.

And the eel rice bowl came with green tea specifically for making ochazuke (tea-poured rice). Since the rice was already seasoned, pouring in the hot water and topping it with eel gave it a whole different charm!

The side dishes were a bit different this time — fried shrimp, karaage (Japanese fried chicken), and a cream cheese biscuit for dessert. Right up my alley again!

I really love salmon rice bowls, but I hadn't found a place that satisfied me lately, so I'd been settling for salmon sushi instead — I think I finally found my go-to salmon bowl spot!

The soft salmon paired really well with the fluffy rice, and the sauce, the vegetables, and the freshness of the salmon were all satisfying — nothing missing.

Overall, the food was delicious and I loved the atmosphere at Yuok. More than just a place to eat and leave, I liked that you could enjoy a slow, unhurried meal in that calm setting.

The food quality was great too, so I want to come back and try other menu items next time. If you're planning a date around Songjeong or Haeundae, a course like meal → walk along Songjeong Beach → head toward Haeundae could work well.
