I was wondering where to make dinner plans lately, then heard about a jokbal place famous around Bupyeong Market, so I went to check it out.

I'd heard a few times that the jokbal in this neighborhood was good, so I'd been curious. As it happened, I finally had dinner plans with a friend after a long time, so I thought, this is the moment! I made a reservation and went. Deciding what to eat for dinner is always hard, but on days like this, jokbal is simply the answer.

Jangmo Jokbal Bupyeong Market Station Branch: Location and visitor information
Jangmo Jokbal Bupyeong Market Station Branch (장모족발 부평시장역 본점) is at Unit 104, Donga Wellbeing Town, 264 Buheung-ro, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon.

It is about 189 meters from Exit 3 of Bupyeong Market Station—a three-minute walk—so it was really easy to get there by public transportation.

It is open daily from 4 p.m. until midnight, and I think it would be a good idea to reserve in advance before visiting.

For those driving, underground parking in the building is available, so keep that in mind.

There seemed to be quite a few customers during dinner hours, so you might have to wait a little if you go without a reservation.

Being this close to the subway station makes it especially accessible for anyone arriving by public transportation.
The half-and-half front leg jokbal and platter noodle pairing
We ordered the half-and-half front leg jokbal, which let us enjoy original and garlic jokbal on one plate, so it was great for trying a bit of everything.

There is also a half-and-half hind leg jokbal option, plus spicy jokbal for anyone who likes heat. We also ordered platter noodles, which are great as a jokbal set; the generous noodles and cool, sweet-tangy broth paired so well with the jokbal.

There was a satisfying variety of complimentary side dishes too, so it felt like one hearty jokbal meal took care of everything.

Looking at the menu, it seemed they also do plenty of takeaway and delivery orders, so I thought it would be nice to get it to go and enjoy it comfortably at home next time.
Moist jokbal with no off smell
My biggest concern was an off smell, but there was none at all. The meat was moist and tender, while the skin retained its pleasant chew, making it fun to eat too.

What pleased me most was that it was not overly fatty, so I could eat it through to the end without feeling greasy. The garlic jokbal had a subtle, sharp garlic aroma, and alternating it with the original kept me reaching for more without getting tired of it.
The lean meat was sliced thickly too, so every piece had a definite bite. The platter noodles refreshed my palate between bites of jokbal with their tangy seasoning. There was plenty for two people, and I remember finishing the meal happily full.
A spacious, calm restaurant atmosphere

The restaurant was spacious and clean, with comfortable space between tables. Seeing individually wrapped wet wipes and utensils set out made me immediately feel that they paid attention to hygiene.
They also refilled the side dishes and bean sprout soup without us needing to ask, so we could eat comfortably. The tables can be joined together for groups, so it seemed like a decent place for a company dinner too.
There were signatures on the wall from comedians and YouTubers who had visited, which made it feel real that this is quite a well-known place in Bupyeong. The soft lighting and calm atmosphere throughout the restaurant also made it easy to sit and talk for a long time.

It was such a nice day to relax over dinner and catch up with my friend after a long time. Next time, I want to try the spicy jokbal and half-and-half hind leg jokbal too.
When I visit again, I want to work through the other dishes one by one and build up my list of great jokbal spots around Bupyeong Market. If you are looking for jokbal around Bupyeong Market, I think it is worth stopping by at least once.
