The Dogok-dong pie shop with the red door

Hodu Kkakki Brothers is a Dogok-dong handmade pie spot that accepts livelihood recovery consumption coupons, and even the entrance is special. A bold wine-red door grabbed my eye. It felt like walking into a little storybook house!!! It made me feel like I'd found a secret dessert shop hidden in a tiny European alley.

Walnut pies are lined up in the showcase at the entrance, so even just walking past you can tell it's a pie place.

Hodu Kkakki Brothers menu and pie sets

The menu has a real variety: signature walnut pie, original pecan pie, milk cream walnut pie and cream cheese walnut pie. There was a neatly arranged menu board, and the cream cheese walnut pie set my heart on fire.

You can buy by the piece without any pressure, or take home a whole pie, and the set options are really well put together. I loved that there's a mix set for people who want to try several flavors at once. Considering how much work goes into handmade pies, the prices felt quite reasonable. I chose the middle set, which includes the walnut pie and the cream cheese one.

You can pack coffee or other drinks to go as well. I only took the walnut pies.

The packaging is so cute and pretty, right~~ The hefty walnut pies were a little heavy to carry, but thinking of them as snacks for my kids, my steps felt really light and happy!!

The Hodu Kkakki Brothers mix set I bought has 8 pieces in total. It's said to keep for 7 days in the fridge and 30 days in the freezer, so it's great for stocking up and handing the kids one at a time as a snack.

What does the cream cheese walnut pie taste like?

The cream cheese walnut pie was easily the best of the pies I tried this time. I already love cream cheese, but I never imagined walnut pie and cream cheese would go together so well.

It has a smooth, rich cream cheese flavor, and under the cream is a generous layer of crunchy, nutty walnuts. So good!!!

The taste is top-notch and the packaging is neat and pretty, so I'd happily recommend it as a gift too.
