Yeonnam-dong has so many good places to eat that it’s hard to decide what to have, but that day I suddenly wanted spicy tteokbokki so badly haha. So I searched for tteokbokki and headed to Eungkeum Tteokbokki Yeonnam Branch! What especially caught my eye was that it’s open 24 hours 👀 For some reason, tteokbokki can suddenly sound amazing late at night too, so I loved that I could visit without worrying too much about the time..

A relaxed place to eat in

The inside had a more relaxed, comfortable dining atmosphere than I expected! When we visited, there were teenage friends there, as well as a slightly older couple..

When you eat tteokbokki, you can’t help worrying that the sauce might splash or get on your clothes, but they had aprons ready, so I could eat comfortably ☺️ There’s also a restroom inside the restaurant, which was convenient while dining!

I also liked that there wasn’t just tteokbokki on the menu—there were lots of Korean snack dishes to choose from depending on what you like! It would be nice to add sides to your tteokbokki and enjoy several things together, or visit with a friend, choose what each of you wants, and share..~ So it seems like a place you could use for everything from days when you just want simple tteokbokki to days when you want a big spread of Korean snacks 🍜

Having refreshing ades with the spicy tteokbokki felt like it freshened up my mouth bit by bit, so they were a great thing to order together 🍓🍋 The colors were pretty too, and putting them next to the food made the table colorful for photos—it was fun taking pictures! 📸

They were also running a review event, and we received bottled beer! It was a slightly ambiguous time to call it daytime drinking, but tteokbokki and beer... it was sooo good.

Spicy Eungkeum Tteokbokki Original

First, the Eungkeum Tteokbokki Original! Sometimes you just crave this kind of spicy tteokbokki, right? - ♥️ The chewy rice cakes and tteokbokki sauce came together so well—I got the full Korean-snack-food feeling while eating it!

I thought it was an easy, no-pressure choice when you want simple tteokbokki in Yeonnam! Tteokbokki is especially nice for chatting about this and that while sharing with a friend, so it seemed like a good place to visit on a day you’re looking for a Korean snack restaurant in Yeonnam. If you’re looking for tteokbokki at a good Yeonnam restaurant, you might want to keep it in mind 🌶️

This was sweet potato tempura the owner gave us—it was totally, totally crispy.. seriously delicious hehe.

The Bonjour Cream Tteokbokki I kept reaching for

After trying both, Eungkeum Bonjour Cream Tteokbokki was more my taste! 🤍 Maybe because it had been a while since I’d had cream tteokbokki, but I kept reaching for it more than the Original haha. The spicy Original was also great for enjoying that classic tteokbokki flavor, but I liked the Eungkeum Bonjour Cream Tteokbokki with its smooth, rich cream base even more!

Rather than eating only spicy tteokbokki the whole time, the cream version was a gentler option, so this one was more my style..💗🩵 If you’re deciding which one to get, I’d recommend Eungkeum Bonjour Cream Tteokbokki without hesitation 🥹🤍 If you go with a friend, I recommend ordering one Original and one cream version to share! It was fun choosing the one that suited each person’s taste ⭐️

This time, we ordered the spicy Original and smooth cream tteokbokki together, so we got to enjoy two flavors, and having ades with them made our tteokbokki time even more fun! More than anything, what stayed with me was that it’s open 24 hours, so you can stop by whenever you start craving tteokbokki late at night..!
