Gunpo pizza restaurant with cheese crust: Jagajebbang Seonmyeonghui

When pizza boxes are stacked all the way to the ceiling, you usually assume it is mainly for delivery and the dining area will be an afterthought, right? That is what I thought too, but every dinner seat was already full!

I had heard it was light, wholesome bread rather than greasy bread~! Seeing “Beer” written right next to “pizza” really showed this place’s character 😊

Dinner seating and the open kitchen

When you walk in, the yellow wall and counter are the first things you see. The seating is divided by wooden partitions.

I visited at dinner, and there were especially lots of families dining here.

There is a decent amount of seating, but turnover is quick. The table next to us kept changing too~

You can watch videos on a big screen along one wall! It has just the right vibe for pizza and beer, right~?

They get lots of delivery orders too, so pizza boxes are piled up everywhere:)

Pizza and side menu prices

Pizzas are ₩21,000 for M and ₩24,000 for L. Choosing half-and-half or changing the dough costs extra accordingly. They give you cheese oven spaghetti for a receipt review, but it must be a 5-star review with a photo; it is once per table and only with a same-day receipt.

Sides include a ₩8,900 salad and spaghetti from ₩7,900. A 500cc draft beer is ₩5,000. Walk-in takeout gets you ₩5,000 off per pizza haha.

Mozzarella cheese and fire-grilled spicy galbi half-and-half pizza

I ordered mozzarella cheese and fire-grilled spicy galbi half-and-half. The L pizza is ₩24,000, plus ₩2,000 for half-and-half, ₩3,000 for the fire-grilled spicy galbi, and ₩3,500 for cheese crust, making it ₩32,500. The pie was quite big.

I assumed all chain-pizza dough was frozen. But they knead it fresh in the store here!!! I heard the dough includes black rice from Jindo.

The mozzarella side is mild. This is about how much the cheese stretches up. It is more nutty than salty, so I could see why kids eat it so well 🤤

Even when I pressed it with a fork, the dough did not slide around. The base held everything firmly.

The fire-grilled spicy galbi side is definitely spicy. The smoky fire flavor comes first, then the heat rises. The meat is finely chopped, so there is something to chew on.

With most pizzas, I end up leaving the edge of the crust, but this bread is so good that you keep going until the end. The toppings do stream right off, though, so holding it with one hand is a risky move.

Salad alongside pizza

I ordered a salad too. It was perfect to eat between slices of pizza.

Usually, pizza-shop salads are just lettuce and dressing, but this one has several kinds of vegetables.

It comes with balsamic and white dressing drizzled together. At dinner, though, there are lots of children, so it is not somewhere for a quiet conversation. Also, the spicy galbi side is hotter than expected, so half-and-half is the safer choice if you are visiting with kids haha. Still, it has been a while since I finished every bit of crust..💛 Next time, I am going to get the takeout discount and eat it at home!!
