When my family and I are deciding what to eat out, I think meat always ends up being one of the dishes everyone loves. This time, we went to Geobugi Dongne Gunpo Sanbon Branch, a Korean BBQ spot in Sanbon, for pork belly :)
A spacious, comfortable restaurant

Geobugi Dongne is located in Sanbon's central shopping district.

Once inside Geobugi Dongne, I found that the restaurant was more spacious than expected, with tables arranged generously.

The sofa-style seats had backrests, so they were comfortable even for a long meal. There were also lots of tables for larger groups, making it look like a nice option not only for family dining but also for company dinners or group gatherings in Sanbon :)
Side dishes and wrap vegetables at the self-service bar

At Geobugi Dongne, there is a ₩5,000 table fee in addition to the menu items. (For up to 4 people)

There is a separate self-service bar on one side. Along with wrap vegetables such as lettuce and perilla leaves, there were lots of sides that go well with meat: scallion salad, onions, kimchi, pickled radish wraps, corn, and garlic. Sauces such as ssamjang and myeolchi jeot (fermented anchovy sauce) were ready too, so everyone could take what they liked.

I especially love scallion salad, pickles, and pickled onions with pork belly, so I brought back as much as I needed. All the side dishes here were tasty too! My family kept saying so.
An 800g Family Set for four

The menu at Geobugi Dongne includes beef as well as pork, various set meals, and shabu-shabu. There were three adults and one child in our group, so the four of us ordered the Family Set, soybean paste stew, and pot rice!

Here comes the meat Family Set! It includes 200g each of pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, and gabrisal, along with mushrooms.

As you can probably tell from the photos, Geobugi Dongne's meat is generally cut quite thick. Once it was cooked golden on the grill, the outside looked deliciously seared while the inside stayed moist.

Rich pork belly and mild pork neck
The pork belly in particular had a good balance of fat and meat, giving it a properly rich flavor! It was good on its own, but dipping it in myeolchi jeot or having it with pickled onions cut through the richness, so I just kept eating.

The pork neck was less fatty than the pork belly, so it was nice for a lighter bite.

Even grilled thick, it was not dry, and the more I chewed, the more I could taste the meat's own savory flavor. It was clean and easy to enjoy. The pork jowl had its own appealing chewy, almost crisp texture.

It had just the right amount of fat, giving it a deep savory taste, and searing the outside golden brought out even more flavor. Having several cuts together made choosing what to eat fun :)
A hearty finish with pot rice and soybean paste stew

Rice and stew are essential with meat too, right? :) The hot pot rice had glossy grains that already looked filling, and the bubbling soybean paste stew was spicy and savory in a way that kept me reaching for more. A piece of pork belly with a spoonful of warm rice—there was nothing to fault, from the basic sides to the meat, rice, and stew!
Finishing with soft-serve ice cream

After the meat, there is sweet, cold ice cream for dessert, which I think children would enjoy too. My five-year-old niece absolutely loved it ^^ Overall, this Sanbon Korean BBQ restaurant was a great place to visit with a group, thanks to its spacious, comfortable seating and self-service bar. We enjoyed every bit of the thick aged meat, tasty sides, pot rice, and soybean paste stew!
