A waffle café near Balsan Station: The Sweetree

What kind of waffles does The Sweetree make?
The Sweetree is a café near Balsan Station that makes handmade Belgian waffles, slow-fermented in a cold-aged dough with French butter and Belgian Tirlemont p4 sugar. It's a place where you can try a variety of properly made, high-quality waffles, so I had to share it!
I really, truly love Belgian waffles. That crisp outside and chewy, butter-scented inside.. once you've had it, you can't go back to other waffles T_T The Sweetree, a waffle favorite near Balsan Station, turned out to be a place that nails the real Belgian waffle!

The Sweetree is also close to Ujangsan Station (Line 5). It's a hidden waffle gem near Balsan Station, with crisp-yet-chewy waffles baked with fermented French butter. I hear it's famous for group orders too, and honestly, how many desserts are as good as waffles?

I once ate waffles that were ordered for an event and thought it was such a thoughtful choice. The packaging and cases are sturdy too, so a group order from The Sweetree would work really well!
Can you eat in at The Sweetree?
The Sweetree has a window bar and one table, so staying to eat seemed perfectly fine.

The second I walked in, the nutty smell of butter hit me.. haha. That mouthwatering waffle aroma! You order at a kiosk, and the shop was very clean~
The Sweetree waffle menu and prices

The showcase displayed several kinds of Belgian waffles.

At The Sweetree you can have waffles with 10+ toppings in various combinations, including plain, Lotus caramel, tiramisu mascarpone, cinnamon and maple.

Waffle prices are cheap too, from ₩3,500 up into the ₩4,000 range! There was even fresh mango inside, so it seemed like they use good ingredients across the board~ The coffee menu was varied too, with sizes up to 1 liter!

If you make a set, like waffle and coffee or salt bread and coffee, you get a discount, so the combos were great haha. You can't order just one of the two anyway, you'll end up eating them together, and there's a discount on top.. total win
How was the maple waffle and Americano set?
The Sweetree's maple waffle and Americano set was discounted to ₩7,000 haha.

The outside is crisp and slightly firm while the inside is moist, and it's piled with maple syrup, so the smell alone is so sweet and fragrant.. No matter how full you are, the look and taste make it impossible not to eat.

It has a honeycomb pattern, so it looks like there's honey inside, and it looks incredibly appetizing.

Is The Sweetree's waffle packaging good for gifts and group orders?
The Sweetree packs waffles in a square tray, which seemed good for gifts and also easy to carry for a long trip!

If you care about packaging for group events or orders, I'd really recommend it!

The Americano was very nutty too~ It had a rich, deep, weighty flavor that made the sweet maple waffle stand out even more.

Is The Sweetree's salt bread worth trying?
The Sweetree's salt bread (a butter roll with a salted crust) is ₩3,000 and has a big butter cave inside. By the way.. maybe because they use really good butter, the butter cave inside is huge TTTT

The outside was a slightly soft, moist salt bread, and the ingredients are clearly good, because the butter flavor really comes through. Very tasty.

At ₩3,000 it was easy to eat without worrying about the price.. and salt bread with an Americano gets the set discount too.

Would I go back to The Sweetree at Balsan Station?
The Sweetree, the café near Balsan Station, offered a tasty range of fresh fruit drinks, coffee, and sweet, butter-rich Belgian waffles. I hear the bingsu (shaved ice dessert) is good in summer, so next time I want to come for bingsu with a waffle!
