Yongsan ramen restaurant with spicy jambon: Menya Seoul
In short
Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch is a ramen restaurant on the 7th floor of I'Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul. After a movie, we had mild dongpo pork ramen, spicy jambon ramen, and karaage, each with a different topping-and-broth pairing. Verdict: a great spot to order a variety of distinctive ramen with a group.

It had seriously been so long since I’d gone to Yongsan I'Park Mall with my older classmate to catch a movie...!! When it’s hot, there’s nothing better than getting everything done in one place! With CGV, all kinds of shops, restaurants, and more, Yongsan I'Park Mall is such a good place to go when you’re not sure what to do, haha.
So after watching a movie at CGV, we sorted out dinner right away on the connected 7th floor. We were both craving ramen for the first time in ages, and it was way more delicious than expected..!

Walk straight through the Tasty Park zone like this, and you’ll spot the restaurant among the pop-up-style dining spots.

You can sit at the bar-style seats right in front of the restaurant, and there are lots of shared tables for the restaurants, so seating was flexible.
How do you order dongpo pork and jambon ramen?

Menya Seoul’s ramen is broadly divided into two types: dongpo pork and jambon. Then it gets further broken down(?) into mild, spicy, and mala broths. As on the menu above, the options are numbered by type, so

- Choose a broth
- Choose a topping
- Choose a set or single item
- Order by number
Just follow that order when you order!
What we ordered
In pursuit of variety, haha, we ordered mild & dongpo pork, spicy & jambon, plus karaage (Japanese fried chicken) on the side!
Spicy jambon broth and mild dongpo pork broth

Ahh~ First off, full marks for the visuals!! Ramen isn’t something I eat all the time, but usually chashu? is pretty much the default topping. Menya Seoul feels different because it comes topped with special choices like dongpo pork and jambon!

I usually like spicy food and can handle heat fairly well, so I chose the spicy broth. It was exactly the kind of pleasant spice I enjoy. My friend, who can’t handle spicy food, gave up after one bite—gg. It also had a huge amount of garlic, with that sharp kick coming through, which I liked even more. But wow, total garlic-breath bomb afterward...hahaha.

Wrap the noodles in jambon like this and slurp! The slightly salty jambon went so well with the spicy broth, so I recommend jambon with the spicy broth!!

This is the meat my friend shared from her dongpo pork ramen!! The jambon was tasty too, but this dongpo pork was a real specialty. Next time, I’m getting the dongpo pork, haha.

This is the mild-broth dongpo pork ramen my friend ordered! Compared with the spicy one, it suddenly looked a little plain, but after one bite, the broth was light and clean, with a subtly deep flavor at the finish!

And like I said earlier, this dongpo pork is the kick! The meat was so tender, soft, and rich—it’s an absolutely perfect match for ramen ><

And the karaage we ordered on the side was honestly the perfect size to go with everything. Crispy outside and juicy inside, just right! Since I had the spicy broth especially, a bite of karaage soothed my stomach too—such a great combo!
One-line verdict
If you’re thinking, “I want some slightly special ramen!” I recommend Menya Seoul Yongsan I'Park Mall Branch. Since you can choose toppings and broth to suit your taste, it’s also perfect for going with several people and trying a variety!
For fans of clean broth, I recommend dongpo pork with the mild broth; for fans of spicy broth, jambon with the spicy broth~!!
