Menu and prices: what we ordered

The menu!.! True to the restaurant's name, Cheongdo Minari Sikdang, dishes using Cheongdo minari are the main focus! Minari pork belly, minari shabu-shabu, minari raw duck roast, duck bulgogi, duck hot pot — most of the menu is built around enjoying meat with minari, and the crispy minari pancake is also a popular side ~😆

The shabu-shabu can be finished off with knife-cut noodles or fried rice for a filling meal, and there are also standalone meal options, so it's good for a quick, light meal too! Overall, the menu is characterized by a wellness style that highlights the fragrance and freshness of minari 😣

We ordered minari raw duck bulgogi (half portion, ₩36,000) and Cheongdo minari cold noodles for dessert (mixed broth style, ₩7,000)!.! The minari raw duck bulgogi is fresh raw duck meat seasoned and served with minari, and it's notable for having almost none of that gamey duck smell, with tender meat 🤭

Side dishes and dipping sauces that come with the duck

The basic side dishes were simple but paired well with the meat — pickled onion and baek-kimchi (white kimchi) come as standard, and perilla powder, house sauce and vinegared chili paste are provided as dipping sauces 😋

This sauce goes really well with the duck meat, so you have to try mixing it up!.!

How to grill minari duck bulgogi: 7-minute timer, then 3 minutes with minari

When the raw duck bulgogi goes on the grill, they give you a timer too — just grill it for that amount of time (7 minutes) and it comes out tasty! Along with the duck you get onion, potato, mushroom, chives and rice cake, and the minari is meant to be added later on top of the nicely cooked duck bulgogi 🥰

If you cook it too long the meat can get dry, so getting the timing right is the key point lol

When the timer goes off, now you drop in the minari and cook it for just 3 more minutes 🥳 Once the minari goes in, the visual is amazing 😊

What does minari raw duck bulgogi taste like?

The minari raw duck bulgogi is finally done ~.~ Let's dig into the minari raw duck bulgogi 🤓

Duck meat picked up together with minari

The seasoning, sweet with a subtle spiciness, had soaked well into the meat, and the minari that came with it was fragrant and crunchy, cutting through any richness 😙 Eating the minari sizzled on the grill together with the meat, the nuttiness and freshness came together perfectly!

The pickled onion was crunchy and sweet-and-sour, cutting through the richness of the duck bulgogi cleanly, and the napa kimchi was refreshing and just ripe enough to cleanse the palate!

The sauce made from mixing perilla powder and vinegared chili paste was full of nuttiness and tanginess — a real treat for dipping the meat! The portion of meat was generous and the minari came in plenty too, so it was enough for two people, and paired with fried rice it's basically the ultimate rice thief 😄 If you like duck bulgogi, I really recommend trying it at least once!

Cheongdo minari cold noodles to finish (7,000 won)

After filling up on minari raw duck bulgogi as the main dish, we ordered Cheongdo minari cold noodles for dessert! It was a mixed style combining water-based and bibim (mixed) cold noodles, which was great for a cool finish on a hot day!

Fresh minari was piled generously on top of the noodles, and the broth was clean and refreshingly cool — excellent! The noodles had just the right chewiness and were nicely dense, giving a good bite, and with the minari mixed in the texture was extra crunchy, making it even more delicious 😆 Eating it after the rich duck bulgogi, it definitely felt like it cleared and refreshed the palate! Be sure to try it as a palate-cleansing dessert ☺️

Is Cheongdo Minari Sikdang Samgakji Branch worth it?

To sum up, Cheongdo Minari Sikdang Samgakji Branch was a place where the freshness of Cheongdo-grown minari was incredibly appealing, and it had that healthy-food feel that left me feeling lighter after the meal ☺️ If you're looking for minari dishes near Samgakji Station, I strongly recommend visiting Cheongdo Minari Sikdang Samgakji Branch!!
