Goyang Chinese restaurant after a Seooreung walk: two jjamppong bowls
In short
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a two-floor Chinese restaurant specialising in jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) on Seooreung-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. After a walk around the Seooreung royal tombs, the writer ordered Jijeon Jjamppong (13,000 won), Sujebi Jjamppong (13,000 won) and sticky rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork, 19,000 won) to compare the meat-based broth with the chewy hand-torn dough, and used the self-bar for free rice and dessert drinks. Chuseok holidays had just ended and I felt a bit gloomy, so my beloved Mija❤️ and I went out for a walk to Seooreung to get some fresh air. Looking for somewhere to eat nearby, I remembered that Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch, one of my favorite jjamppong spots, was right around there — so of course I had to go, haha.
Back when I lived in Paju, I used to go to Jjamppong Jijeon once or twice a month for hangover soup. I hadn't had it in ages since leaving Paju, so I was genuinely excited to finally taste it again, haha.

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch: the building and parking, easy to reach by car?
The outside of the shop!.! Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a two-story building, so the exterior already gives off a spacious feel!

The private parking lot is huge, fitting close to 30 cars, and parking is free — so it's really convenient to come by car 😄

Inside Jjamppong Jijeon: seating and a self-bar with unlimited rice
Inside the shop!.! Once you step in, the space is quite large and clean, with tables spaced comfortably apart so it never feels cramped. What I liked most was how well-organized the self-service corner was!

At the self-bar you can freely help yourself to unlimited pickled radish, jjachai, bean sprouts, cheongyang chili, onion, chunjang (black bean paste), kimchi, small plates, scissors, an apron, and even rice 🤩

Free rice is perfect for mixing into the jjamppong broth, and after the meal you can also grab free coffee, plum, or omija tea from the self-bar!.! Overall it has a homey, casual but tidy vibe, making it a comfortable place to eat.

The menu at Jjamppong Jijeon and what the table ordered
The menu!.! True to its reputation as a jjamppong specialist, there's a wide range — starting with Jijeon Jjamppong, plus sujebi (hand-torn dough) jjamppong, rice noodle jjamppong, soondubu jjamppong, and more. The spice level of the jjamppong is adjustable 😙 They also cover the Chinese-restaurant classics well: jjajangmyeon, fried rice, sticky rice tangsuyuk, sichuan tangsuyuk, fried mandu, and more.

Jijeon Jjamppong (13,000 won), the meat-broth signature bowl
First up for review is Jijeon Jjamppong 🥳

Jijeon Jjamppong is Jjamppong Jijeon's signature dish, built on a rich meat broth base!

It's not the clear, refreshing seafood-broth style — instead it's thick and hearty, packed with meaty flavor. One spoonful and your whole mouth fills with deep umami, haha. There's a subtle but unmistakable smoky wok-hei flavor, and thanks to the domestic sun-dried chili flakes, it's spicy and clean without being heavy or dull!

The bowl is loaded with seafood (clam meat, mussels, etc.), meat, and vegetables, so there's plenty to chew on 🥰 The clam shells are already removed so it's easy to eat, and the noodles feel low-temperature aged — chewy and springy, soaking up the broth beautifully. Absolutely top-tier flavor!
Even at the basic spice level you get a decent kick, and since the heat is adjustable you can pick what suits you 😚 Mixing leftover broth with rice is an absolute treat — perfect as a hangover cure or just a solid, satisfying meal!

Sujebi Jjamppong (13,000 won), chewy hand-torn dough instead of noodles
Next up is Sujebi Jjamppong 😣 This one swaps the noodles for sujebi (hand-torn dough), and the texture is really good!

The sujebi has a chewy, springy texture reminiscent of potato starch, and it clings to your mouth nicely! It's not too thick, just the right size, so each bite with the broth feels soft yet has a satisfying bounce 🤓

The broth flavor is similar to Jijeon Jjamppong — rich with a strong smoky note — but the sujebi soaks it up and gives an even nuttier, warmer feel!
There's plenty of seafood and meat, and the spice level is adjustable too, so many people order this as a hangover fix! Especially recommended for those who prefer chewy dough texture over noodles, or when you're tired of regular noodles. It's tasty to pick the sujebi out on its own, or fully soaked in the broth for that instant relief feeling 😃

Sticky rice tangsuyuk (19,000 won), plated with the sauce underneath
Last up: sticky rice tangsuyuk!.! The batter is the key here — compared to wheat-flour tangsuyuk, this one has a crispy outside with a chewy inside that really stands out!
The plating is especially nice — the sauce is poured on the bottom of the plate with the tangsuyuk placed on top! That way there's no need to debate sauce-on vs. dip-on-the-side — you eat it however you like!.!
Maybe because sticky rice flour is used, it doesn't go soggy easily over time, and the meat itself is soft and thick, giving it a really great texture ☺️

The sauce isn't too sweet or too sour — just the right sweet-and-sour balance with a good depth of umami that pairs well with the batter~.~ It sometimes comes with sweet potato fries too, and dipping those in the sauce turns out surprisingly delicious! The portion is quite generous, good for sharing between 2–3 people!
Verdict: is Jjamppong Jijeon a good lunch stop after a Seooreung walk?
All three dishes come in generous portions with a good flavor balance, so ordering two jjamppong varieties plus tangsuyuk makes for a hearty, satisfying meal 😋
Overall, Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch impressed me with its generous portions and rich broth — totally my style! Parking is easy and the self-bar is convenient, making it a great, no-pressure spot to visit with family or friends. Definitely worth stopping by after a walk around Seooreung 😆
