Yolk, the Wonju pasta restaurant I've visited for 13 years
Yolk opened back when I was a student at Samyuk High School! Back then it was THE date spot in Wonju, no question 🤍 I kept going well into my early twenties too — great value for money. Same spot, same great Wonju pasta restaurant, then and now.
This is a self-funded visit — my real 13-year favorite.
Where to park at Yolk Wonju Musil
Yolk Wonju Musil has a separate paid parking lot and offers parking assistance! We found a spot on the street right next to the restaurant and parked there.

Is Yolk Wonju Musil good for a weekday work lunch?
Yolk Wonju Musil takes Naver reservations, so it's easy to fit around your office lunch break. If you're looking for a spot for a lunch get-together with coworkers, I'd recommend it.
I visited a bit after lunchtime on a weekday at 1pm and there were quite a few people, so I took this photo on the way out. Still clean and still has great atmosphere.. 🤍

Quiet second-floor seating at Yolk Wonju Musil
Yolk Wonju Musil's second floor has about 6 tables, and you get there by walking up the stairs from the first floor. We sat upstairs — you just take these stairs up.

The second floor is perfect for eating quietly, so I always sit upstairs every time 🍀 Though I imagine serving must be tough for staff because of the stairs..
Upstairs already had utensils, cups, bowls, napkins, and wet wipes set out, which made things easy for both us and the staff! Love that kind of thoughtful prep ✨
Yolk menu: what's in the 49,000 won set for two

The set for two at Yolk, a go-to spot for Western food in Musil-dong, comes with bread + salad + pasta + pilaf or burger + 2 drinks for ₩49,000. Great value, so I recommend the set menu 💗 Of course, there are extra charges depending on which pasta or salad you choose!

We ordered 📋 spicy beef rose pasta + barbecue pilaf + Cajun chicken salad. So pretty! And food that looks good tastes good too!
Cajun chicken salad, 15,000 won
Yolk's Cajun chicken salad isn't just Cajun chicken with sauce carelessly drizzled on top — there's something like a potato salad on it too. That made it softer and more filling, and the sauce combo was excellent.

Barbecue pilaf, 13,000 won
Yolk's barbecue pilaf, when you pop the yolk and mix it all up, is seriously good.. Loaded with meat and the barbecue sauce gives it a bit of a bulgogi rice bowl vibe too. Solid basics that pair well with anything 🤤 I want to eat it again already.

Spicy beef rose pasta, 24,000 won
Yolk's spicy beef rose pasta seemed like a newer item on the menu, and there wasn't a single bad element from noodles to sauce.. Thanks to just the right amount of spice, there was zero heaviness even by the time I finished!

I tried putting it on the pre-meal bread and it was so good I ended up burying the bread under the noodles ㅠ You have to try it this way, it's seriously good. I really am a true taste connoisseur, hehe.
Even after sitting for a while, the sauce didn't harden and the noodles didn't clump, so it was great for eating slowly over a long time 🧡 I'm obsessed with this spicy rose!
Does Yolk still taste the same after 13 years?
I've never once been disappointed every time I've gone to Yolk, this Wonju restaurant favorite! It would've been easy to lose that original spirit, but they've kept this taste so consistent, I'm grateful.. 🥹 If anything it tastes even better than before. Nice to see them keep working on improving the menu too 🍀
I first went when I was in high school, now I'm over thirty — I'll keep coming until I'm over fifty!!!!!!!! Absolute best, no question.
