On the first day of the holidays I went on a drive nearby and was looking for a Gimhae café where I could enjoy good bread and coffee together, so I ended up at Peer a Peer in Jillye.
I was looking for somewhere I could relax with bakery menu items rather than just a place to drink coffee.
Peer a Peer, this Jillye café, looked quite large and had a gallery-like vibe, so I visited without hesitation.

When I arrived by car, the café turned out to be much bigger than I expected.
The parking lot was big and spacious too, so I worried less about parking even on a holiday or weekend.
Inside the converted factory: a gallery-like café
Stepping inside, I felt the spaciousness right away — it felt open and comfortable rather than crowded.
When you look up large cafés in Gimhae these days, a lot of them are just big for the sake of it, but Peer a Peer felt a little different.
You could feel the raw charm of a café made from an old converted factory, but with tasteful interior touches, artworks, and props placed naturally throughout — it felt like stepping into a small gallery.
The tables in the large space weren't packed tightly together, so there was no sense of feeling cramped, and overall it felt cozy.
Photo zone like a portrait studio, plus window seats
One fun thing was that there was a photo zone set up in one corner of the café.
It's a space where you can turn on the lighting and take photos like you're at a photo studio, so it seemed nice for couples on a date or families to leave with some pictures.
There were window seats with an outdoor view too, but this Jillye café in Gimhae felt less like a spot for a special outdoor view and more like a good place to slowly take in the stylish atmosphere of the space itself and relax.
If you prefer a quiet, atmospheric space among Gimhae cafés, this one should suit you well.
The outdoor terrace with pampas grass
Heading out to the outdoor terrace, another kind of charm was waiting.
Pampas grass was planted there, creating a completely different mood from the interior.
On a cool, pleasant day, it seemed like it would be nice to sit outside and have a relaxed cup of coffee.
What's on the Peer a Peer bakery counter?
I couldn't just walk past the bakery corner either.
There were all kinds of bread, from salt bread to croissants, Mont Blanc, egg tarts, pound cake, and ciabatta.
There was also tiramisu, brownies, and cakes, so anyone who loves sweet desserts had a pretty wide range to choose from.
How the red bean butter salt bread and salted choco pound cake taste
That day I ordered the red bean butter salt bread and salted choco pound cake along with coffee.
The coffee had a slight acidity, a bright kind of feel, but it was fairly strong, so it went well with the sweet bread.
The ang-butter salt bread — chewy salt bread with savory butter and sweet red bean paste in between — went really well with the coffee too. It was so good that I packed one more to take home.
The choco pound cake was sweet and soft, with a rich chocolate flavor and aroma that made it delicious. If you're a chocolate lover like me, this menu item is a good choice.
Overall the bakery menu felt like it had been given real care, and being able to slowly look around the space while eating bread and coffee made for a relaxed time.
