Why I decided on my first C-curl perm because of frizz

My hair gets frizzier in humid weather, so I got my very first C-curl perm at Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch. Now that the weather has turned humid, the frizz is worse, and using a curling iron every day is a hassle and seems to damage my hair, so I decided to try a C-curl perm for the first time.

Where is Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch and what is the atmosphere like?

Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch is on the 3rd floor of the La Classe building near Cheongdam Station. Since this was my first C-curl perm, I wanted to try a salon in Cheongdam. It's a bit pricey, but I wanted a healthy perm that went as easy on my hair as possible. The salon felt relaxing, so I wasn't nervous even on my first visit, and the staff welcomed me kindly, which put me in a good mood from the start.

I heard that Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch is the main shop, which has been in Cheongdam for 40 years~! That made me trust it even more and look forward to it haha

After I stored my belongings in a locker, the staff helped me put on a gown, and I waited for my turn with a drink.

The inside of Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch was much bigger than I expected. It was neat and tidy, with plenty of regulars by the look of it, and it turns out it's very popular with foreigners too~!

How does the consultation before a C-curl perm go?

Designer Juri started by carefully checking my hair condition before the treatment. My ends were quite damaged, so she suggested trimming them slightly first and then worked out how to get as close as possible to the style I wanted. I liked that she considered my hair condition and not just the style.

I told her I wanted a C-curl perm that falls naturally rather than a very strong curl, and she opened a photo book showing various hairstyles~! Even among C-curl perms, the photos each had a slightly different feel, and she recommended a style that suited my face shape and hair condition~

My goal wasn't an over-the-top perm but a natural look that lets me avoid the curling iron and blow-dryer as much as possible in daily life! She did exactly the style I had in mind, and it was so pretty that I was really happy.

The treatment: from root volume to the C-curl at the bottom

The treatment went in this order: shampoo, end trim, root volume and straightening the top section, then the C-curl at the bottom. First I had my hair washed, and then she trimmed my ends. All the way through, she kept checking whether anything was uncomfortable and whether I wanted anything more, and she chatted with me so I wouldn't get bored, so the time seemed to fly by.

She preserved the root volume well, straightened the frizz in the top section with a flat iron, and created a natural perm underneath. It felt less like a simple C-curl perm and more like building the whole style, with root volume, straightening and so on, so I was very satisfied.

It was my first time having my hair rolled into those round curls, so it was fascinating haha. During the heat treatment too, the staff came by often to check that I was comfortable, so I felt really well looked after.

A C-curl perm for a round face: how did it turn out?

What I liked most about the finished C-curl perm was how natural it looked. My face is on the round side, and the natural curl starting beside my cheekbones balances my face shape, while the ends turning softly inward make my face line look a little gentler.

I loved the back view too. I assumed a perm would naturally damage my hair, but there seemed to be almost no damage, and it looked even better, silky and full of volume! They said the healthy result comes from using premium products.

Can you style it by hand without a curling iron?

The curls came out well, so just drying my hair and lightly shaping it by hand makes it fall into a pretty shape, and my morning prep time has definitely gotten shorter. My husband said my look changed and heaped on the compliments, saying it's so pretty! haha
