Winter snow, rain, and dust had left my car really dirty. The windshield in particular still felt hazy and frustrating even when I ran the wipers. It was too cold to get a full car wash, but I wanted to at least clean the front glass, so I used AutoGrooming AutoGrooming car oil-film remover.
What is included in the package?
This product is available online, and it came with one oil-film remover and a cleaning cloth. I expected only the product, so I was happy that a cloth for wiping was included too.
What was the windshield like before cleaning?
It looked fine on the surface, but while driving, the oil film and grime made the view feel frustratingly unclear. I had run the wipers several times a few days earlier too, but it had not felt clean.
How did I open the cap and use it on the windshield?
Once I removed the plastic cap, it was ready to use. I opened it carefully because pressing too hard while removing the cap could make the contents come out.
First, I wiped the windshield once and sprayed on the oil-film remover. Maybe because my car is on the small side, I did not need to use much to spread it evenly across the windshield. Then I wiped with the cloth, spreading the solution over the entire glass.
At a car wash, I would have sprayed plenty of water, but since this was a parking garage shared by many people, I used as little water as possible. Afterward, I wiped the windshield as thoroughly as I could with the cloth. For this cleaning, I used a small amount of water, the cloth, and the wipers.
Did the view look different indoors and outside?
First, I compared before and after in the underground garage. The glass looked cleaner than before, but I wanted to check the difference outside too, so I took the car out.
Looking at it while taking photos outside, I could feel the difference in the clearer windshield more distinctly. The view that had felt frustrating while driving looked much cleaner, which I was happy with.
Even in an environment where it was difficult to use plenty of water, I felt the view was clearer than before. I thought it might clean even better at a car wash, but this time I only checked the result of cleaning it in the parking garage.
