Level 4 mala takeout near Deokcheon Station
Craving that tongue-tingling aroma and bright heat near Deokcheon Station, I stopped by Mara Golmok, a popular spot in Deokcheon-dong, Busan. The restaurant was newly renovated for its fifth anniversary, with repairs completed and professional cleaning carried out, they said. Even more types of ingredients had been added, making everything feel fresher. This time, I ordered both mala tang and mala xiang guo at level 4 for takeout. It was properly spicy, yet the kind of flavor that kept drawing my chopsticks back, so it was a happy meal at home too.

Ordering level 4 mala tang and mala xiang guo
Today's order was level 4 mala tang and level 4 mala xiang guo, for a total of ₩24,500.

With such a wide selection of ingredients ready, I could build a bowl exactly to my taste—loading up on vegetables or adding noodles and fish cakes.
A takeout set that was easy to carry

The food was neatly packed in containers so it would not leak, then placed in a handled bag that was easy to carry.
Opening the containers revealed plenty of vegetables, noodles, mushrooms, and other ingredients among the glossy red sauce. The rice and danmuji (yellow pickled radish) were packed separately, so it was easy to set out a tidy meal at home.

Being able to alternate between the broth and the stir-fry made me glad I had ordered both dishes. Although it was a takeout order, each menu came with a rice, plus danmuji, so the spread felt substantial.
Mala xiang guo with rich seasoning and varied textures

Mala xiang guo
It is an appealing stir-fried dish made by cooking a range of ingredients in a rich sauce.

The red sauce coated every ingredient with a glossy sheen, making it look mouthwatering at first glance.

With one bite, the savory umami of the stir-fried sauce arrived first, followed by a bright, spreading heat.

Chewy noodles, crisp vegetables, and tender fish cakes came together, giving every chopstickful a different texture.

The mala xiang guo paired especially well with rice, which also made the deep level 4 heat more comfortable to enjoy.

Mala tang with spicy, savory broth
Mala tang
They describe it as a warm, spicy broth dish tailored to Korean tastes.

The moment I opened the lid, a warm, tongue-tingling and nutty aroma spread out. True to level 4, the heat was clear from the first taste, but the broth's savory depth followed right behind, so I kept reaching for another spoonful.

The broth had soaked nicely into the assorted vegetables, mushrooms, and noodles, while each ingredient retained its own distinct texture, which made eating it even more enjoyable.

Mixing a little rice into the broth softened the heat beautifully and made the meal feel even more filling.

On a day when you are craving hearty, deeply flavored mala tang, this was a nice takeout set to enjoy casually.
Two level 4 takeout dishes for spicy-food lovers
Mara Golmok stood out for its brighter, cleaner fifth-anniversary renovation and expanded ingredient selection. The mala tang had a wonderfully spicy, savory broth, while the mala xiang guo won me over with its rich sauce and varied textures. Both dishes were level 4, with unmistakable heat, so they would suit people who normally enjoy spicy food. It is close to Deokcheon Station, easy to get to, and thoughtfully packed for a meal at home. On a day when I want a bowl of mala tang that leaves a tongue-tingling yet gentle finish, this is a place I would think of again.
